King crabs

just got back from Houston and have filled my face for 2 weeks on some of the finest seafood I have tasted

alaskan king crab, blue swimmer crab, soft shell crab...bloody lovely the lot of

even something like a dressed Cromer crab is lovely..excellent recipe in one of Rick Steins book for a dressed crab with a nice cheese crust

Nope it doesnt taste at all like chicken

...hard to describe the taste but its quite sweet tasting but not to the extent where its sickly sweet...

Swordfish on the other hand is very much like chicken and is absolutely gorgeous. Had some a few months ago when i was in Miami on business, went to some seafood restaurant and saw it on the menu so had to try it.

Crab IMO is a very Delicate taste. Its not strong at all. So those who smoke or dont have strong taste senses may find it tastes "grey" (like the guy that said it did)

My family grows Yabbies(Fresh water crayfish). The Cherax destructor is what we grow and sell

I would love to be able to grow these beasts(the one in the picture below) though which are found in Tasmania and grow upto 40cms-80cms long and some times longer and have been recorded of weighing over 6kgs

Shame they take ages to grow and breed though

I love Seafood and chinese, never seen a chinese receipe with crab though, might have to have a lookie.

But yes, that thing looks seriously dangerous. I can't believe they can be up to 6ft wide lol
