Kingston SSD

I recently got 2 of the new Kingston 40gb ssd's and put them in raid 0 at your budget price. I couldn't be happier with them thus far. Problem is, you can't get them anywhere anymore which doesn't help you and is a shame.

For £160 i dont know what to suggest really. I would either go with the Intel X25-V (40gb) for £92.99 or, ideally, if the budget can streach, get the Intel X25-M (80gb) for £197.99 and enjoy the extra storage space.

I think i might stretch it for an 80gb , been hearing that upgrading to these SSD shows a massive speed increase! and best option for faster pc , ahhhh sod it! if thats true i`m getting one :)

Looks good! I didn't realise they did a V+, was looking at the V series. For the extra boost in performance for an extra 25 quid I'll be looking to grab one of these!

That kingston V+ is basically the same as a Samsung PB22-J / Corsair P256 but a few quid cheaper

So great random reads, and sequential read & writes, poor random writes - no stutter
And maybe TRIM if the new samsung firmware will work.

Personally it's either Intel or Indilinx for me - but with the new firmware update samsung is back in the game

You can still find them.... i've just installed win 7 on my 40GB kingston and i'm loving it so far.
