Knife sets/blocks

Do you have a shop called Steamer Trading in your town? They're a good kitchen/chef supply shop.

Some good makes are Victorinox, Sabatier, Henkel, Whustof, Global (though they're quite expensive).

Well I've just got back from TK Maxx. Ended up paying £40 for a set of 5 Sabatier knives with an RRP of £120:

They didn't have a great choice up there really (Unless you want Anthony Warral Thompson knives for £9.99) but these will do nicely.

Thanks for everyones help.

I've got a set of global knives, great, hardly ever need sharpening but out of your budget.

Just go to a cookware shop and ask them to recommend something.

Swiss is the way to go with blades usually, got my great granddad's swiss potato peeler, sharpest peeler i've ever used and you consider how old it is it's amazing.

If you want a laugh - look at the Anthony Warral Thompson sausages...
It's got a picture of him on the front and "***** with a fork" on them. :D

Totally agree there. ;)
