Knock Knock

They didn't all come with one
I think Penski was trying to point out that the op's does hence why black would work well. Yellow bodywork, Black trim and wheels ties it all in nicely. I think those are dark tints too which finish the look nicely.

Using gun metal etc. adds a third colour and makes it look messy.

if you used some tyre black it would look much nicer :)

Who said I was putting pug wheels on a saxo?

Also I think the tints look ****

dadofsam: you still got my smoked rear lights off my old car? I'll still have them if so, just lmk when you want me to collect.

You posted a link to a pic of some cyclones saying I like these... I kind of put 2 and 2 together

Oh right, well seeing as I have just got new wheels and I was talking about what colour I should get them refurbed in I thought it would be obvious that I meant I liked the colour of them :)

Yeah... didn't see the new wheels bit :o :p

Edit- but they were a pap colour :p

BACK to the point, are the alloys you've fitted matching the original PCD etc? You might well find that you need spiggot rings fitted and the knocking sound is the alloys being loose?

Yes they are Saxo VTS wheels and the knocking noise occurred before I fitted the wheels.

I seem to remember you posting something about hitting a kerb.............

Hmm if i'd of turned up today I wouldn't have been driving about when some old dear decided to pull in front of me when I was overtaking her and thus me having to ram my car onto the kurb and ripping 2 brand new tyres to shreds and buckling 2 mint alloys.

Riding on steelies ain't pretty :(

I didnt run into the kurb i just kinda drove over it straight on and it doesn't appear to have done any damage and tracking is still spot on, just wrecked my wheels, hence the new set.

The knocking noise was apparant before that.

In my 309 GTi I had a similarly hard to trace knock from a lose sub-frame bolt. Check the ones that mount down by the foot wells with a torque wrench.

Get them done in a darkish anthracite colour, dont bother with a polished or cut lip, it'll just look daft because those wheels dont have a real lip to them.

Wouldn't CV joints make a knocking noise on acceleration and decceleration rather than going over bumps?

Depends on what's up with them. If it's the coupling, it may only become apparant when the suspension is at full droop or full compression.

Does it occur when doing an emergency stop?

Don't know, will try later. It seems to me just something is loose because you can feel it a bit through the steering wheel also. Just checked wishbone to floor mounting bolts under the carpet and they are fine as well as checked the torque on the topmount bolts. :/
