5am knock at the door. Police . "do you own a black golf" "yes" "Where is it". " over therrr oh ! "

So lastnight some scrotes have tried to twok my mk2 golf gti , bent both doors , smashed 2 windows , broke all the ignition cowling and every lock on the car , gouged a bit of the roof when bending the doors

Im thinking write off as soon as the door roof and paint are taken into account. Or close too. Guess the old school cobra immobiliser did its job though...

Ive spent most the winter buiding this car to how I wanted it , only been back on the road a month ! Don't have the time and effort left in me to put it right again

Not even sure why posting , guess to just vent

These scum need to be shot. Hopefully insurance will be up for repairing it considering its a bit of a classic!

If they do write it off, see how much they want for you to buy it back and take everything off it?

Scrotes deserve whatever comes to them
 
Some people have no respect for the property of others. Even sadder when it's a car you've obviously spent a lot of time and effort creating.

Hope they catch the scum
 
Terrible news.

It is always a harder pill to swallow on a car like this. Newer cars are obviously worth more, and more readily available, so if written off are easier replaced. Older motors though, generally get written off for the slightest damage, and are harder to replace. Especially with good / similar standard ones.

I really feel for you.

Insurance are sending out recovery guys within next hour or so and i fear that will be the last time i see the car

The doors and around the doors are mashed and that's going to mean expensive paint and bodywork , theb there's the locks , wiring , window , buts of trim around steering cowling

How can I make sure I don't get ripped off ? Even the police fingerprints guy just commented on how good the rest of the 25 yr old paint is , no rot either . but do the insurers "engineers" care about this ? Doubt it !

if wrote off then to be fair id buy it back and track car it or sell it as a track car if given the chance

Sorry to hear that mate. :( What a shame as these are lovely cars and yours looked to be a superb example.

I hate ****holes who do things like this, lowlifes with nothing to live for apart from causing grief to innocent people.:mad:
