Knock knock....

Looks nice that too, just keep in mine that one of these days people like those scum will get what's coming to them

its was on the street opposite house , in a quite culdesac that no one would have any reason to go down or past

work nights so its usually not there , and on weekends its usually on drive.

dont always leave it locked because i know how easy they are to get into (or should have been) and knew the immobiliser would put most off.

these guys have obviously been pretty rubbish. i mean they bent the drivers door out for the old hook round door pin trick when it doesnt even have a doorpin on that side :/

Surely you have an "agreed value" insurance policy on a car like that so getting it repaired wont be an issue?

Oof, feel really gutted for you. As some have said, when you've poured hours into your own build it's just that much more painful :(

Cheers guys

Insurance are sending out recovery guys within next hour or so and i fear that will be the last time i see the car

The doors and around the doors are mashed and that's going to mean expensive paint and bodywork , theb there's the locks , wiring , window , buts of trim around steering cowling

How can I make sure I don't get ripped off ? Even the police fingerprints guy just commented on how good the rest of the 25 yr old paint is , no rot either . but do the insurers "engineers" care about this ? Doubt it !

Don't let them take the car until you've decided the amount with them or it will very much be the last you see of it.

If you still have possession of the car they can't low ball you then say "sorry we destroyed it already", I'd be ont he phoen advising them you will NOT part with the car until a value has been agreed upon.

Looks show quality imho from your pics, any other similar ones sold on eBay recently?

Please don't say you'rew insured with any of the admiral group? On speaking to them they don't cover mods :(

to be fair its a 5 footer rather than show quality , up close and you (especially me) notice its 25 years of use and abuse. but still good for its age and gets positive comments

the mods are all covered through adrian flux / equity redstar. my policy was only renewed last month so i sent a mail asking for re confirmation and yes still all covered

they are all over the place on classifieds and ebay price wise.

its been taken to a garage for repair quotes. should i be worried about that ? surely its still my car when i have the v5 and havent accepted anything ?

That's a *****er. Looks rather well looked after for its age.

I take it you live near me with that being Portrack Asda in the photo?

Quite... I would expect 1 lock or window, steering column damage, and a bit of wiring damage. What the hell were they doing... :(

I guess they failed on every lock and actually got inside from bending the door and sticking their hand inside :S
utter madness

they actually had to climb through the smashed window and reach the inside door pull because theyd knackered the passenger handle so much that even lifting the pin through the broken window wouldn't open it

proper muppets.

all theyd of had to do was break a window , lift the pin , get in , do their crappy hotwiring , realize the fuel and ignition where immobilized then left me with just needing a £20 bit of glass off ebay and some soldering

but nah they wrecked everything :/

the boot wasnt even locked...

Scumbags. :(

Repair it so that it looks right again, then rig up one of those south-african style flamethrower devices under the doors, and catch the little scrotes at it next time.
