Knocking noise (already!?)

So, the garage has had a look and diagnosed play in the shock and top mount
Cost to replace - £600!!

Thrown at warranty company see what they say.
That's nuts they need replacing already

Assuming this is a 3rd party warranty, I'll save you the time of waiting for the warranty company to reply:

"This part is not covered as it has been deemed that it has failed due to wear and tear and is not a sudden failure"

Now, to get a new shock and top mount shouldn't be anything like £600. That is mental. A shock and top mount on a Corsa will be around £70 for the part, then 2 hours labour at £120 or so. This should be repairable for under £200.
