Hey folks!

So I'm a regular contributor to reddit/r/buildapc (like here but much more manic and filled with yanks :P) and something that has reached the 'hot' page caught my attention as it is extremely useful so, naturally, I thought I'd share it with you lot.

reddit.com/user/OrionFOTL has created a website with lists of power supply OEMs and what platforms they are built on! Finally, someone did it! I think this will come in handy because, let's be honest here, the vast majority of us don't really know a massive amount about what's inside all PSUs currently on the market. I'll link to the reddit post here http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/2c2lak/discussion_power_supply_platform_database_is/ instead of the website because the original host of the website is totally pants so OrionFOTL has linked a couple of mirrors that other people have kindly agreed to host.

Obviously, this being a recent creation, it doesn't have a massive amount in the way of coverage - only 3 PSU brands are up there but, hey, one of them is Corsair and we all know how many false rumours there are about their PSUs ;)

Anyways, I hope you all find this useful and I really hope this isn't against forum rules :/ I did check but couldn't find anything that stated that users can't post stuff like this.

Ah... did not know about that one :/ thanks!

Edit: ah, the only thing with realhardtechx is that it doesn't list platforms - only OEMs

It's a bit outdated, don't ya think?

Edit: Oh, maybe it isn't... it has the EVGA G2 series... But it does list NZXT as unusable and their power supplies are actually pretty alright these days.

It has some NZXT units in higher tiers, same with Hiper and some other brands.

I'm just happy because they recently added mine in tier 1

Guys... The main focus of this post was PSU platforms. Not OEMs. An OEM name isn't necessarily an indication of the quality of the PSU - OEMs have lots of different platforms. Saying 'the Corsair CX600M is bad and that's made by CWT, therefore, the Corsair HX1050 must be bad because it's also made by CWT' is a really stupid statement to make because the two PSUs are on different platforms - one bad, one good, both same OEM.

Oh yeah, that's a first for platforms.

Any reviewer worth his salt will cover the platform though. From memory mines based on Seasonics KM3.
