It looked like good fun.

Found the video.

Also put together the mount now, I just need nice sunny day to mount the gun boot and top box on the bike I just hope it will all fit ok.

The metal seems very strong and happy I got this over the plastic version mount.

Might just be me - But this just seems ridiculous?

If you actively shoot at ranges and have a constant need to transport firearms and ammunition it would seem appropriate to do that in a car, no?

Are you in the UK? Just seems quite inappropriate for transport of a firearm (and ammunition I figure?). It's not hidden, at all. In fact it's very overt and quite obviously a firearm. Is it lockable? Even if so, how easy is that to remove from the motorbike?

Where are you storing your ammunition? Backpack? Panniers?

I'm with you on that.
Even if it's bolted to the bike, someone could easily take said bike, with or without you on it.

I used to carry a shotgun in a gunslip over my shoulder while riding my Suzuki 1100 to RAF Lakenheath regularly and was never stopped by Police once despite pulling up next to area and traffic cars at junctions on several occasions.

Had my ticket in my pocket, but never carried any ammunition as it was cheap as chips at the base Rod & Gun Club.

I see no problem carrying a firearm on a motorbike in the uk or anywhere else really, even if the gun boot shows what I could be carrying.

I can lock the gun boot and also lock it to the bike if I wanted to.
Going to buy two combination padlocks for this job and I even have a steel cable pinned from the gun boot to the mount as a backup.

Not everyone drives a car and cars are not safe from theft as well.
Ammunition would be stored in a locked top box.

I don't really see what is so ridiculous? Should ride with the gun in a backpack strapped to my back?
If I come off that will hurt a lot if not kill me, it's much safer for me if the gun locked in the gun boot :)

Any ways I have finished putting it on, I had to DIY a bit with the mount as my bike rails are not very wide.

I just need to buy a smaller top box as my current one is too large.

I probably angle it lower if I can.

Thanks.

Aren't those U bolts upside down? They don't seem to be actually clamping the bracket to the rack.

That is vastly larger than I was expecting, I can see that being a magnet for coppers.

Now you posted the pictures......it's even more ridiculous :D

Even ignoring the fact it's a gun in a gun boot. That's a massive Construction and Use nightmare waiting to happen. You are going to get tugged by pretty much any Police Officer who has an eye for traffic.

Looks like they're holding the top panel onto the lower panel to me
But what about holding the top and bottom panel down to the rack ? If they were the other way around they would hold everything together.

Let us know when you are about to go out on it for the first time as I want to get the news on and hear about armed police arresting a motorcyclist carrying a huge gun :D

I should think the first time a copper sees that you will be pulled for a loading offence, and then more than likely done under some form of firearms offence.
