Kwik Fit - Don't do it

I don't buy tyres to make a fashion statement though so whilst they still offer class leading performance I'll continue to buy them. The day they are toppled at the top of an independant, properly test tyre review is the day I move to the new winner :)

Pffft, I seem to remember you boasting about the tread pattern on your tyres and saw many a picture with the wheels conveniently turned to show them off :p

Is there somewhere where I can find local places that have one of these Hunter machines? I think one of my wheels needs balancing....getting a bit of vibration between 65 - 75MPH. I usually take it to a local tyres place (Dartford Tyre & Accessories for anyone local, great guys, know what they are doing, fairly priced and very quick), but I'd like to see if there's anywhere nearby with more specialist equipment.

They can do you their "Silver wheel balance" which I believe is what Fox had - may or may not be on the Hunter. Or they do the full road simulation which is the expensive ~£100 malarky.

They ordered them in for me, £440. Cheapest in town.

You get what you pay for.

Doesn't really matter how much or how little you've paid for them - with your balancing/tracking as far out as you said it is they'll degrade much quicker than normal and you'll be back writing another cheque out for £400+

And you wonder how these "garages" make a profit :D

KF are ok if you find a decent one, the problem is it's so variable.

The one local to my office managed to scuff two of the alloys on my last car and also performed a tyre repair which very nearly failed a few months later.

I now take it to a different one nearer where I live and have never had any problems with them.

I wouldn't take any of my cars to Kwik fit lol, the respected one about 20 mins away from me in Micheldever I find bad enough!

Does anyone know of any decent tyre fitters in or around the Basingstoke/Hampshire area?

Micheldever tyres by the station, or are you saying they have become crap now ? Got my last set of GY F1 there for the mondy. Other than that I have used National for tyres and pre-interval oil changes
