Kyle Rittenhouse - teen who shot three people in Kenosha

Putting yourself into a highly provocative and confrontational situation with a semi automatic rifle at age 17...... What could possibly go wrong?

Oh... dang.

A lot of angry agitated morons all looking for a fight but with deadly weapons. Literally anyone and everyone can be walking about "legally" with the potential to kill 15 people in seconds in their pocket or slung around their chest....

Good lord i have no idea how this will go but its sadly/morbidly fascinating.

A rifle he was illegally carrying you mean? Its absolutely not ok for him to kill people especially when its quite clear one of them had his hands up He also shot someone running away and people thought, rightly imo, he was an active shooter so tried to take him down.

Hes a murderer.

He undeniably put himself in a stupid situation but he was being chased down by an armed mob, sounds like self defence to me.

Guess it's OK for a gang of adults, one armed with a pistol (the dumb **** who got his arm blown off), to violently attack a child in the street, but it's not OK for that child to defend himself with the rifle he was carrying.
That's the "dumb ****" who had plenty of time to shoot the kid but chose not to?

Chased down because he just shot someone.

Because he was being chased by an armed mob. The NYT even reports it.

'While Mr. Rittenhouse is being pursued by the group, an unknown gunman fires into the air, though it’s unclear why. The weapon’s muzzle flash appears in footage filmed at the scene.

Mr. Rittenhouse turns toward the sound of gunfire as another pursuer lunges toward him from the same direction. Mr. Rittenhouse then fires four times, and appears to shoot the man in the head.'

The person who was shot in the hand had a gun, thats fair enough as hes on the ground. He shot someone who was running away...

He also shouldn't be walking the streets with an assault rifle but lets just ignore that little fact.

all this talk about why was he there, he had no right to be there etc...

Usa is a big place a 30 min drive there is like popping to the shops for us here in the UK.

Okay its across a state line, but if he lives on the border, what difference does it make? It's not like these 'asylum seekers' clumping through multiple countries across europe to get to the uk.

He had as much right to be there as these ere armed protesters did.

A friend of mine married a real 'Murcia' type of person and you can see the turn happening. She's just posted a Breitbart article showing all the times left wing protesters have harassed people at the RNC convention, real apples to apples.

They all seem as crazy as each other.
This, the LARPers are notching it up a level now. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Looks to me like the dude wanted to play "Medic" in an FPS. :D

It's quite clear from the footage I've seen that plenty of the "peaceful protesters" were armed. We're probably not privy to the full chain of events at the moment - he certainly shouldn't have been there in the first place. I don't feel able to to comment on anything beyond the part where he's on the floor.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets off with self-defence if it was based on that alone but gets charged on the firearm offence. The calm composure (ceasing fire instead of going Rambo) after he'd disabled the assailants might work for him in court. Last time I looked it was a bit wooly regarding the events leading up to it and there are multiple conflicting stories.

I'm actually amazed this hasn't happened sooner given the anger building in the communities and the protestors' propensity for looting and burning businesses, including those owned by black people. If it isn't nipped in the bud pretty sharpish then we'll see it turn into localised civil war zones IMO.

Just need someone to successfully launch a narrative of "USA vs the Commies" and it'll be rootin' tootin' sharpshootin' fun! :D

Well done to the politicians/authorities for turning a blind eye to the more unsavoury aspects of the protests and legitimising their behaviour.

"Peaceful but fiery" - LOLZ!11!one! <slow clap>

Why do you have to bring asylum seekers into every thread? You are constantly derailing threads with this absolute nonsense.

He was illegally carrying a gun.

Who's fault was all this?

1=The Democrat Governor of Wisconsin for being an idiot\weak\election year trouble maker.
2=blm and Antifa terrorists.

The guy should be charged with an arms offence. But that's it.

Trump needs to sort all this out and continue to support the good guys, still has my vote come November mind.
I did make a comment some time back where I said that in my opinion, if Trump is going to win the election, it is likely to be on the "Law and Order" ticket. It was off the cuff back then but it's actually looking more likely now.

Anyway, back on topic... sorry :)

It is.

The biggest point for me is why the protestors were following him/angry with him in the first instance. Why was Kyle singled out? Why weren't other "militia" members chased/in this situation where they had to open fire and kill people? I would be surprised if this whole thing was entirely unprovoked.

There are reports that say he threatened them with his rifle. If thats the case, surely the protestors were acting in self defence/trying to disarm him?

I guess we will have to wait till the court case to find out exactly what the prosecutors have in terms of unreleased footage/witness statements.

Which is hilarious as loads of his campaign, administration and long time friends/confidants are felons.

Yep, I wish everyone including the media adopted this common sense attitude instead of the blind speculation and clickbaiting that just gets people even more riled up.

Must admit like @Efour I'm finding this fascinating too - the court case will be really insightful. Things often go down completely different to how you'd expect over there depending on state.

It seems to run counter to any logic or intelligence to vote for Trump on law and order based on this sort of incident, when all this stuff is happening right now under Trump's administration, and has been running for months.

I've not looked at this incident in any detail, but it just seems another reason why widespread public ownership of guns, coupled with possibly the worst system of police oversight and control in the developed world, is a really ******* bad idea.
