L4D2 any better than L4D1??

thing is they built l4d maps for co op play! u can tell this by all the missing high roofs/textures and lack of access to some!
I hoping l4d2 is more focused on the versus side of the game.

Because if it was truly meant for multiplayer, they would have expected people play on them for far longer than a once or twice through on campaign, and eventually got to the higher places?

I'm not sure if I follow. I guess that's what took from what you said. Enlighten me.

L4D was the biggest waste of £35 ever. 4 campaigns... great. I'm sure they added more content but it was long after I decided it was £10 of entertainment for 3 times the price.

At £35 yes, but it was originally available from somewhere sounding like a rainforest for preorder at £19.99, and I'd say it was worth that.

The release of the second one is only a month before christmas, so I'll wait for the chistmas Steam sale and see if it's worth picking up then.

just play dead air versus it will make perfect sense! half the roofs have no access and there is too much clutter in the way for infected

One mission is set in daylight.

I think it looks quite good, depending on the price. The addition of dynamic weather that can hinder your progress if you continue forward, or force yourself to set up a perimeter and wait for it to pass is cool.

Are you sure? I'm sure i heard it was all set in daylight and the witch now wanders about due to it being daytime.

you cant really qualify an opintion on a game that youve played less than an hour mate. If youd actually given it a go, you would have liked it.

i agree i got L4D when it was around £12 or something

would never consider getting it at the full RRP

same with L4D2 wont even consider it till they do another 50% off deal

the game is so worth rp price, i got it on the xbox for 39.99 the day it came out, played that game to death it all about playing with mates so you can work as a team thats what makes it fun

L4D is only worth playing if you have a versus with people that you know and are good, pretty fun when it all goes well.

I hate games that require effort to be fun. LFD was great for around 4-6 or so hours. Then I'd completed all the campaigns. And as the depth of the actual gameplay was so shallow there really wasn't any need for me to go at it again. Versus just seemed a bit crap to me, in fact that crappy zombie mod for half life 2 was actually better for versus type gameplay.

Ok I admitt, I probable would have played for at least twice that long if I could have got into a decent group of people who played regularly, and bought myself a mic. But seriously, so much effort when all I need to do is log onto my 200hour cod 4 profile and I'm having fun within minutes. No crappy matchmaking and no waiting for other members to join me/set up voice comms etc.

So all in all I will have to say left 4 dead was one of the most overated, wastes of money I've ever spent. Left 4 dead 2, i may just check out if they make the gameplay a fair bit deeper.

To be fair it was quite obvious what the gameplay would be like. If you just read reviews before buying then you'd have been prepared for the 'shallow' gameplay. I think if you really got into L4D online then it was definitely worth the £35 (on console, haven't tried PC vers). Although if we are going into just the single player then I agree with you as £35 for 4 60 minute campaigns is not good value for money.

L4d is a game im always playing because of the community. EU servers are awsome as everyone plays fun....i got bounced onto a US server and was the worst game ive ever played ....they were haters. Everyone should use MIC's, its just a lot more fun.

If all you do is play campaign mode with randoms, then yes, it is going to be rubbish. Vs mode with a bunch of OcUK people is where the fun is at.

Ive never played on a US server but Ive found most of the games Ive played on EU servers to be unfriendly and full of nubs. But then again i mainly play survival so thats probably why.

Got to agree though, its much more fun when people have mics.
