Can also be very short, even with a first baby (wife's waters broke at 5 a.m., gave birth at midday).

Congrats, enjoy every minute because (as every parent on here will attest) the years really do fly by in an instant.
 
to be honest, I thought it was a rant about Labour, but I'm pleased to find it's something more joyous :D congrats, hope the baby and lady are doing well :)
