Hi there guys,

I am looking to buy an external hard drive, but i am stumped. I wanted to get a 1.5TB Seagate, then a friend of mine told me that LaCie has a similar drive and that it is better. I read the specs for both (I am not a guru in this subject) and found that they were both similar. I want to get the better, more reliable one.

Seagate http://www.******.co.uk/1.5tb-seagate-external-portable-drive-513188

LaCie http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/813174-REG/LaCie_9000193_Rugged_Mini_USB_3_0.html

they are both roughly the same price, but I am not sure now. I've had a Seagate drive for years which is still running well. Although the LaCie is more durable (not that I am planning on throwing it around lol)

If you guys can give me some feedback and advice I would really appreciate it.

Ven :D

You realise that LaCie don't actually manufacture HDD's.

I don't know which particular manufacturer's drives they use, maybe one, maybe several, but inside they're just the same Samsung, Hitatch, Seagate, WD or whatever drives that everyone else uses.

I believe a 1.5TB portable drive will be two 750GB drives in RAID 0. As far as I know there's no such thing as a 1.5TB 2.5" drive.
