Lame comedians

Has anyone seen this standup comedian who I think was on comedy central, he was bold and was talking about how when someone calls your name, your automatically look back without thinking about it, he was going on about other instances where you can't control your neck etc. It was so funny but I can't remember his name and I really want to watch it again.

Terry Alderton?

Women comedians = fail.

But I've noticed on a lot of comedy programs, no matter how bad the comedian is the british public laugh because they feel they should - "hey I'm at a comedy gig afterall!"

A little heckling wouldn't go amiss once in a while tbh.

*lots of terrible male comedians too, but 100% of women are bad comedians.

- My favorite comedian ever is Katt Williams (American). Such cleverly written material.

What do people think of Billy Connolly or Rhod Gilbert?

As for my favourite stand up comedians, I would say it is a tie between Jack Dee and Michael McIntyre (his "Man Draw" sketch really tickled me). Can't say I am keen on comedians like Noel Fielding though.

I quite enjoy Armstrong and Miller as well, though that isn't stand up.

I wish I could remember the name of one I saw years back. She had a really soft voice and she had this really clever way of adding just a couple choice words to what we thought was the end of a sentence and totally changing the whole meaning around completely. I'll keep browsing to see if I can find her. I thought it was Rita Rudner but it wasn't.

There aren't many black comedians I can stand at all. They all seem to dog on the white man, or constantly "eff this" and "eff that". Bill Cosby was the exception - absolutely brilliant storytelling.

Russell Brand is lame as hell. Shout a lot, be totally manic and make predictable gags that always include a man's favourite solo sexual occupation. Luckiest bloke in showbiz if you ask me.

Really good stand ups are Ricky Gervais, Jack Dee, and Steve Coogan when he used to do stand up with all his characters such as Paul and Pauline Calf, and of course Partridge.

I find all female stand up boring to watch and the jokes do tend to be interchangable between them all.

My favourites are: Bill Bailey, Louis CK and Brendon Burns.. I enjoyed Lee Evans the first few times but he is just constantly on all the time so i've just seen it to death, michael mcintyre the same always on tv seen it too much.

There are no funny female comedians.

My favourites; George Carlin. Billy Connolly. Bill Bailey. Dylan Moran. Tommy Tiernan has his moments. The gag he did about music piracy always cracks me up.

I think the mistake made by so many female comedians is that pretty much the sole basis for their material is their sex. They seem to fail to realise that being female is not inherently funny. It's a bizarre self-imposed restriction.

That's one of the weird things about it, how far have we come as a society if comediennes think that their sex itself is that funny?

I have seen her a few times on TV and always thought she was rather funny - better than most comediennes!

Different strokes and all that, she's better than most - the worst I have seen is the black woman that is often on Mock the Week, who just yells.

what because i like incredibly obvious slapstick humour.. i guess so then.

Or i could like pretentious observational swearing comedy that was hilarious in the late 80s and 90s.

Someone already admitting finding Peter Kay funny... hes the biggest ***** to walk the planet.
Whos next Roy "chubby" Brown??

Wouldn't this technically be " pretentious observational swearing comedy" ?

How can you find him funny? His DVD which my mum had for a birthday a year or so ago was basically his Live at the Apollo show, except repackaged.

That's what all comedians do, they do a big tour with basically the same show.

Just like a bands tour plays the same stuff at each venue + a little bit of variation.

You just couldn't get any reviews to put on your poster (or do more than a few venues every year), if you had to make new material for the every venue.
