Lan noise reducer

Every year there is an audio show at Cranage in Holmes Chapel, it's free entry and it's regarded as one of the best shows of the year.

This year just gone, Chord were doing a live demo on cables and mains conditioning. They were switched their products out one by one, and playing the same tracks back, they were then discussing audio differences with the audience. I presume Chord will do the same demo next year.

Did Chord say "well our products make no difference at all, and in fact it sounds worse, electronically the cables are unsafe, and we're ripping you off and laughing about it because they have a 10,000% profit margin"

20 years ago I use to setup mobile disco's. I ran twin 400w RMS mcgregor amplifiers, I had enough power to cater for at least 300 people in a room.

Your running almost 10 times power than above. Hopefully you don't live in a flat.

that's 13 channels of amplification for the speakers, 5 into 4 ohm load rest are 6/8

1800W x 2 and 500W for the subs

For those of us invested into the Naim system of audio, we have known this for years and years. That's why if you buy a Naim source (Cd deck, Streamer, Pre amp, Power amp ect), they are always supplied with Din to Din signal cables.
The reason is very simple, Naim make their own signal cables and because of that all the cables are a perfect match for source to pre amp. The cables also carry an earth cable that keeps continuity between earth on all connected boxes, which in turn keeps the noise floor to a minimum.
When i first purchased my CD5 XS (second hand), it came with the Naim interconnect and some aftermarket no name interconnect. The difference between the 2 cables was so drastic, the no name when straight into the recycling bin.
As far as i know, Naim are the only audio manufacturer that supply their own interconnects as standard with all their source boxes.

What about Bose? :-D

When I was at the North West Audio show, I've seen these puritan power conditioners being switched in and out, and the noise difference on the scope. We know there is interference on ethernet, Cisco has documents describing this.

This is the demo I mentioned, I can confirm it's real as was standing next to the filter when the test was done.

And to add something else. North West Audio show has the large demos from companies selling full range of products. However in the small hotel rooms, often these small demo's are tiny companies selling speakers only. However if you look at their demos, they all run some form on mains conditioning / expensive power cables. Their not promoting these things, but using them to improve their own audio, that is normally just their speakers they are selling. If these audiophile products did not work, they would not be running them.

I would need five of those.

Have you upgraded your kit?
If not, then that’s not quite true

Can't really upgrade anymore, I've reached the limit. Shame really as quite fun that's part of the hobby. Upgrading speakers amplifers just doesn't make sense. I don't have Kef Codas where next upgrade is ok, having Reference class and another brand flagship- end game. Space/cost no limit would be monoblocs all round but that would require 13 of them. Not worth it.

Sure there's Trinnov but that's way out of reach and I wouldn't spend that much plus with how much AV pres depreciate it's not worth spending thousands.
