Hey all,

After upgrading to Windows 7, my laptop battery barely lasts 15 minutes. Usually lasts between 1 to 2hrs when I was on XP and Vista. This problem is quite common as documented at the Microsoft Forum. The thread is pretty long and hoping they have a fix but they don't seem to have one as of yet for my laptop.

I have an Acer 5051 Aspire. Have Microsoft released a fix or patch to fix this annoying problem yet??? Anyone know what I can do?

Performance settings and Aero categorically will NOT EVER cause a laptop to last a mere 15 minutes unless the OP is raping the GPU and CPU.

You may need to recalibrate your battery. How you do this depends on make/mode of the laptop. Or your battery might just be knackered and it is coincidence it happened after you installed 7. The battery on my old notebook decided it only wanted to last 10 minutes right out the blue. Only a few hours before it ran fine for hours.

New battery off eBay and problem sorted.
