Laptop hard drive wont boot windows

Hey guys, my laptop wouldnt boot past windows logo and i couldnt run the windows boot cd either

so i connected it to my pc and it freezes my pc, cant do anything.

Is this hard drive dead or can it be rescued? i don't care about the data

would appreciate any help

if its freezing both pc/laptop then its probably faulty?

you have hotswap on your z77 meaning you can connect the hdd sata power/data cables once its booted up and in windows,enable sata hotswap in bios

then see if you can access the troubled hdd and maybe format it or run chekdisk on it to repair any errors
