Ive got a Sony Vaio VGN-N11S/W which has a cracked screen on it. Looking at getting it replaced but dont know where to buy the screen from and whether to pay someone else to do it or do it myself ( never installed LCD screen b4)

Thanks

I usually get the part number of the back of the screen or see if a bit of research can dig it up, typically £100. The bay has the exact one for £130, thats a premium. The general series of screens usually works, so a similar part number, they're fairly close in design, just choose between gloss and matt. They're not hard to fit, just be careful and very patient with the bezel.

Take the screws out of the bezel, gently unclip it. Unscrew the panel from the support frame and the part number is on the back of the panel.

You cant find the screws holding on the bezel? They're nornally under the little rubber pads. If you cant figure it out take some pics, it may be obvious.

The other option is to pay an arm and leg at a repair shop, wont be cheap.

See the little white rubber pads? Pull them off, they're self adhesive, put them upside down in a saucer/lid to keep them safe. Little crosshead screws underneath is my bet.

No, the front bezel needs to come off first, its clipped to the plastic back panel. Take the screws out, then gently work your way round the edge separating the clips. Dont force anything, usually means you've missed a screw if its stuck in one point. Once thats off put another picture up.

CPT154WA if my eyes can squint that far.

If you cant find that, try searching for LP154W??, B154EW0?, 15.4 Glossy LCD. They're all pretty generic, just the connectors need to be the same etc, 30 pin. Approx £100, the bay.

CPT154WA forget the rest, thats the CHUNGHWA part number. They all use equivalents CLAA154, LP154W, B154EW depending on the manufacturer. Give me a closer pic of the top white label, to confirm, but looks like ebay 280155820234 is the one £99.
