Now then, I'm not in the habit of buying pizzas but I just got a flyer through the letterbox. Apparentley Domino's is offering me a bargain price on a large pizza. £14. What?
ROFL. pee off. That's taking the mickey.
They think that's a good offer? Or am I just old and stingy?

Usually better offers if you collect from your local Dominos.

I think I can get a large 1 topping pizza for 7 quid from mines.

I did used to eat Domino's a long time ago. They hooked me in this weekend with a £20 offer for buy one get one free . Wife was away and so I got them for me and my son, the quality was absolutely shocking, nothing like they were a decade+ a go. Wouldnt buy them again even if there were a fiver.

£14 for a 14 inch pizza isn't horrendous in this day and age but with all the pizza places that have popped up in the last few years that do a "proper" pizza, I don't know why anyone would go there.

£14 is the deal price for a large from Dominos, without it your looking between £22 - £25.

Never ever ever buy Dominos without any deals in place.

Buy your own flour and make some for that much you can buy a 10KG bag of flour.

60 Pizzas in a bag!

I used to enjoy Dominos, but I now agree with what others have said above, in that they are awful pizzas now.

wrt the OP's comment, I think food across the board has increased in cost significantly since covid, not just Dominos

any bread flower works fine, most supermarkets sell pasta/pizza flour these days though.
takes likes 10-20mins to do the dough, tastes better if left in the fridge over night and used the next day, but still fine used right away.

to me cooking pizza from scratch seems easier than making pasta or something, people likely over estimate the effort it takes a lot

You're just old and stingy - but I think most of us on here knew that already ;).

Seriously though, it's a takeaway of course it's going to be significantly more expensive that what you could make at home. Show me a takeaway that isn't.

Yep just chuck mine in the f

Yep just chuck mine in the fridge overnight 3.7g yeast per 500g flour remove ball and leave out 1 to 2 hours before cooking to rise depending on how hot. Pizza flour is blended the way it is for a reason.
But yes I agree any flour will do!

I'm certainly more in preference of our local Indy pizza shop. I think for £18 we get a 14" pizza with 9" garlic pizza bread, a 1.5l bottle and fries, 4x fried chicken strips with fries and delivery plus the usual service fee that Just Eat add on. Normally does the two of us for both nights, although we have to cook something like chips on the side for night 2.

Costco £10 for an 18inch pizza is better. My go-to nowadays

Yes it's only cheese or pepperoni, but I can live with that

I think the full price is like 22 quid now for a large dominoes, shocking.

I suspect the venge diagram of people who pay full price for a Dominos pizza and people who pay full price for a DFS sofa is basically a circle!

I get the off Dominos, round my way once you factor in the offers it's pretty much the same price as the indies and more consisten. We do have a fancy pizza place, who do 20" pizzas, but they're north of £25.
