Large potential terrorism event avoided

Yes I saw it on some national news pages / TV yesterday but seems to have dropped off now without any further information... Starmer and Mahmood posted about it though, and have said without the police intervention people would undoubtedly have died, so must be pretty serious.

Sounds like the event was for a sect of Islam (Ahmadiyya) that's banned in many Muslim countries for theological reasons, and Pakistan etc claim they aren't technically muslims, so get persecuted abroad.

Edit: for some reason am sure the Ahmadiyya were linked to it originally but apparently it's actually a Sunni Tablighi Jamaat event https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablighi_Jamaat

Really, nothing seems to match up to that and when you consider the reporting and
  • Five men, aged 27, 29, 55, 60 and 82 were arrested in Surrey
  • A 35-year-old man was arrested in Greater Manchester
  • Two men, both 42, were arrested in Essex
  • A man, 33, was arrested in southeast London
  • One woman, 48, and a man, 31, were arrested in east London
  • A man, 27, was arrested in Ipswich

I would assume the CTP would be a little more expert than OMG a drone lets flood the village with armed officers and arrest 12 people.

One of the group who wasn’t arrested has posted a video why they were there and what they did.
I can’t post it because of very naughty words.
But yeah, thousands were saved in terrorist plot.
 
TBH I don't think we should be making jokes about actual or potential terrorism even if the terrorism was right wing related

Some round here would lose their minds, in fact they did in the Ann W thread if it was a right winger being targeted.
 
The videos are easy enough to find.
If I start repeating what they’ve said I’ll probably get in trouble with the mods as this isn’t SC, and I do try to be a good boy on here.
I guess we’ll find out exactly what happened when or if the people filming get charged and what with.

If you can't even provide an edited brief of what they said then what was the point of your post?
