Since I got into work at 8am this morning my colleagues have been arguing about their fantasy football teams, even getting quite heated at times. I wonder what it is that makes them less nerdy than these LARPers? They both have costumes, the footballer fan's cost £50 for a thin piece of nylon made in the third world with the name of big corporation on it, the LARPer's cost considerably less no doubt and were made themselves. The footballer spends a lot of money travelling to crap British cities with their mates, the LARPer spends a lot money travelling to open spaces around Britain with their mates.
Why is one activity socially acceptable and the other isn't?
