Following on from the similar cinema thread:

Last 3: (All bought in December 2011)

The Lion King - Double Play (Blu-ray + DVD)
The Book of Eli [Blu-ray]
Harry Potter - The Complete 8-Film Collection [Blu-ray] [2011][Region Free]

Next 1:

No plans as of now. At some point if I get a fancy TV and sound system I may get a 4k Blu Ray player and try out a 4K disc. Until then I go to the Cinema for the "best experience" and streaming for everything else or subsequent viewings.

Last 3:
Dr. Goldfoot collection (although it looks like it's missing in the post*).
Into the Video Store - The Empire of Screams LE (Arrow video release if some classic video rental titles, including Robot Jox! looks like I got it just in time, it went out of stock on Arrow, Amazon and various sites over the last week)
Walk on the Wild Side

Next up for delivery:
Babylon 5: The road home - due out Monday

My DVD/BD buying has slowed a lot the last few years, partly because I've picked up so many of the old titles I wanted, and partly because with streaming I don't need buy a lot of stuff (although I have noticed that I'll finally give up on an old title reaching streaming and pick up the DVD/BD cheap, then find a few weeks later it's finally on Netflix or Amazon). Oh and partly because at 3.5k discs+ (according to DVD profiler) I'm sort of running low on space for them.

*I went as far as to check the door CCTV and no DVD sized packages have been delivered this week.

Sharpe Classic Collection in 2012
Rome series 1-2 in 2010
Blood Diamond in 2007

Next:
Not anytime soon, don't have a player since selling my PS4. Maybe wont bother again as there are so many streaming options.

physical media now we talking dirty by the looks of it no one seems to buy it :/
Nice tho that the Market seems to be moving more into high end collectors edition's etc

Last 3
1: Event Horizon 4k Collectors Edition (Steelbook/poster/artcards/pin and patch)
2: Edge of Tomorrow 4k Ultimate collectors Editions (mostly same as above)
3: Middle Earth ultimate edition 4k

1: Still after one of the Tremors 4k disk that came out last year?
2: Bloodsport is calling meeee
3: Will probably add an older release to my catalogue.

Last 3 Blu Rays I've purchased.

The man who haunted himself
Convoy
Vanishing Point

As with most others, I stream/purchase digital versions these days, but some older films you just can't get

I bought about half a dozen from a charity shop earlier this year, £1 each.

Deadpool
Spiderman Homecoming
Man of Steel
Last Jedi (I hate this film, but for a £1, I could complete my SW blu-ray collection) :p
Dawn of Justice
1st 3 transformers boxset

I have Disney+ & prime so my blu-ray spending has more or less come to a halt of late. If I want to watch a film that's not on either I'll check on google play/prime video & see if its on a cheap rental. Last one was Black Adam.
I do trawl said charity shops & a boot sale I go to most sundays for bargains so what I add next will be at a whim.

The 4k Steelbook is only 15 quid on Zavvi

Which set are you looking at for LOTR's? I got my Middle Earth ultimate edition signed by Elijah, Sean and Bernard Hill!! Even got a hug for Bernard.

Image king Théoden had his hands on me :D

Last 3 films bought September.
Asteroid City
Rock & Roll high school
The Wickerman 4k collectors edition - not the Nick Cage one.

Next film is Crimes of the Future Collectors edition, which according to amazon should be here tomorrow (I ordered it when it was less than the regular 4k version).

I've not been a good wolfy this month with regards to Blu-rays :/

Man I haven’t been this excited to get a film on physical media in a long time.

Sleepy Hollow! The transfer is fantastic then add the fact that Ferris Bueller's Day is the best transfer of any John Hughes film to date!!

Killed me not ordering Planes Trains and automobiles because of the Blu-ray is a better transfer :(

Also seen collectors editions are up 85% in sales.

Next purchase will be Weird Science 4k.
The slip cover from the latest Arrow release is to die for and the transfer is better than the Blu-ray (just about)

Arrow and a few of the other smaller companies have been doing great work with various films, especially older or slightly more niche ones and doing good quality new transfers/restorations*.
I think one of the reasons collectors editions are up is that several companies are concentrating on doing them and packing them with features to encourage people to buy the physical disk rather than watch it on streaming, I know at least one of the UK niche LA companies specifically states they'll do a CE first then if the rights allow it and the sales have been good enough they'll do a standard version with the same main (or only) disc but no physical extras and in a standard case, and one of the anime companies always does at least an LE or CE version with booklets/box/CD's a few months before they do a standard one (and for some titles an Ultimate Edition where you might get an actual book etc).

IIRC basically standard edition sales are down as the average person who only wants to watch something once or at random are buying less, but the better versions where people who are buying are actually fans/interested in the film specifically are up.
One of the main reasons I still buy physical releases is because I'll often watch/listen to the commentaries and I've ended up with 2 or 3 versions of some films either because of a big improvement in the picture or because it's got the "alternate"/"directors"/"international"/"unrated" cuts which are rarely on streamed versions (IIRC the Criterion version of Fast Times at Ridgemont High has at least one of the TV edits that had alternate scenes).

*It's amazing how badly done some of the big studio releases were because they were in some instances pushing pretty much every title through at the same settings on early encoders because people "didn't want to see the grain" (so lets destroy the fine detail) or similar.

Erm

My fingers slipped on Arrow's site earlier.

It's not my fault I ended up with a bunch of horror films. Honest.

Mildly annoyingly they also had the "Enter the video store" set for half price. I struggled to find anywhere with it in stock at near retail for a few weeks after it was released.

I haven’t bought any for a long while. Last 3 were Zack Snyders Justice League, Bohemian Rhapsody and Alita Battle Angel all 4K. The only other title I have been keeping an eye out for is the 4K complete set of Game of Thrones but still £150 and I am not going to pay anywhere near that.

@Werewolf i believe Sony have new technology to do better 4k transfers with DV and they are going to redo a few of their earlier 4k transfers.

Just spotted Arrow have a great 4k transfer of the Last Starfighter US only tho which I got to have!!
