last night i had a vindaloo...

I just can't wait for my naga morich to fruit. Then we are going to see a hot curry. Which will be for man points more than anything.
But then also need to find a recipe for moricha curry, as it is so good.

I tend to go for a Madras now, the Vindaloo I found to be just hot and not have as much flavour. Went out for a curry last week, my mate who has a small piece had to get the hottest thing on the menu of course to make up for this.

My regular curry house gets their heat levels just right and their Vindaloo is extremely hot whilst being very tasty. I went to the local curry house around here the other week and thought I would play safe my ordering a jalfrezi; my god it was the hottest thing ever. I physically counted 7 whole chillies in the dish and there was probably the same again chopped up.

it all depends on the chef who cooks it. have been to a few different restraunts and some times vindaloo is not that hot, but with great flavour. and others where it is the other way around. I would say that it is a good restraunt if they can get the balance of flavour like that.

Having said that when i have a curry i do like have my mouth burning.

in the future just ask for it to be extra hot and im sure they will oblige

I went to this Indian restaurant in Cape Town about 10 years ago. I ordered a curry and asked them to make it extra hot. My friend I was with was of Indian ancestry. When I got up to go to the toilet they came over to him to make sure "the whitey" was OK. They thought I was sick. He explained that he couldn't handle the heat I could.

I like a hot curry, but I dont like Vindaloo's. Not because of the heat, because of the flavour. It may be down to the poor chef but the last one I had just tasted of vinegar and just ont he whole very sour.

My favourite curry is a Lamb Tikka Madrass cooked with extra green chillis. Awesome blend of flavours, I love it :)

I do like the Vindaloo from our staple local restaurant, though it could be hotter.

A new takeaway opened around a year ago in our village that did a Phaal. I almost did a backflip in anticipation but it was barely as hot as the other place's Vindaloo and didn't taste particularly nice, either. :(

I found Chicken Tikka Chilli Masala to be hotter than a Phal or Vindaloo personally. Made my nose run! :(

When you get whole chillies in dishes like that it can be very potent. I've had curries, that once I've come to the end of the meal, my eyes and nose are running due to the heat! :D

I always have lamb vindaloo, mushroom rice. Staple order. Obviously varies from place to place. Best for heat and flavour I had was naga lamb in rickmansworth near my old mans. So fruity with flavour!

Hey Quicklink, what's the name of this place? I'd like to try a naga curry from them.

I've had chicken vindaloos on several occasions and as a curry it's very boring and tasteless, what is it? Chicken and potatoes with lots and lots of curry powder, I think that's it really.

I've also have many chicken jalfrezi's and on occasion these are just as hot as a vindaloo, some hotter. However, in my opinion these are much more flavoursome than a vindaloo.

Now, a naga curry would be different. There is a big difference between just adding more chilli powder and using a really hot chilli, nagas (as most seriously hot chillis) have a unique taste of their own (which I love) that will alter the taste of a curry massively. I've made my own ones, some brutal, some not but would like to give a go on one from a curry house (providing quicklink see's this!)
