Is this going to require a PSN account like all the other new Sony releases that I've been avoiding like the plague for that reason?

Yeah I played it fully at launch and only issue I had was in final mission where mouse started acting weird in terms of random movement iirc but certainly had no issues like that was all over YouTube and social media

Boring game tbh, linear, clear a area then move along.
yes the story is good, characters etc but yawn at the game...when you take it apart.

yeah I get that, but a game is more than just the story. The core game is just clearing out areas. Ignore the story of it and it's pretty mediocre.
Fair enough, to each their own.
I found the story engaging, immersive, the graphics were lovely. I thought it was like being in a movie.

Doom? Really? Dooms core gameplay is completely run and gun, you stay still you're dead. TLOU is a lot more strategic than that, especially on the higher difficulty levels, if you try run and gun here you'll get mobbed and game over.yes that's why it worked in the TV show.
But it's literally Doom in core gameplay
For me it's all about the story in the game, I loved Fire Watch, it was a walking simulator at best but the story made it really immersive and that's what TLOU does really well, it tells a story.

Story line kept me engaged if it was doom I wouldn't have played it , only thing spoilt was that I watched the TV show first it was like interactive version of the TV series, this time I'll be playing it first

The thing I don't get with Sony is that they make PSN optional but then they also don't release these games for regions where PSN is unavailable, and that's a substantial portion of the world. PSN unavailability map in the spoiler.
I mean if PSN's optional then why not make these games available in more markets just like HZD, GoW, Spider-Man, TLOU1 before and profit. Its a very strange decision.
