Last piece of Tech that made you go "WOW!!"?

I think this monitor, just night and day with my old 20" sammy.

The mech keyboard I have is really nice, and I would never go back. This case is light years ahead of anything I have had before too.

I now can't wait to get a a quiet PSU, this one is pretty loud.

my first decent sized mobile phone Nokia 3210 (snake what a game):D
my first internet capible phone a sony erricsson at the time
my first smart phone an iphone 3
my current smart phone a Samsung S3 LTE
sky + tv , pause rewind live tv etc
my first SSD drive was a huge one
proper broadband and internet gaming (unfortunately recent and a life changer )
valvetronic V8 engine in my car still wins though :D (its still tech , technically ):p

I haven't ever gone 'wow!' in that way since I got my PS3 4 years ago. Tech just doesn't do it for me anymore. I'm always to caught up worrying about the money I spent :(

Oh, unless you count my speakers of course :D

And Fallout 3. That game took up a considerable chunk of my life... Completed the story about three times, once of which I completely 100%'d everything, got all the collectibles, quantum's, rare weapons etcetera, discovered and explored every location, found many secrets including a few that seem to have gone unnoticed until i posted about them online... Oh how I miss that game... One day I shall play it again :D

I think that once I have a more steady income, and upgrade (or even replace) my current PC to an unnecessary level, will probably make me go 'wooowwww'

3x 4GB 670's in tri SLI and a 30" 2560x1600 screen... yes please.

9800 pro that was a great card running in my shuttle case with an athlon xp3200.

And most recently a novo7 crystal 2, hell of a lot of tablet for the £89 pounds I paid for it and my 7 year old daughter loved it as a birthday present.

going from a Pentium 3 to a core 2 duo e6400 was like getting out of a micra and into a Ferrari.

and going from a amd x1300 pro to a 5850 :P

One of the main things was getting an Amiga 500 and seeing the intro to shadow of the beast 2, quite an upgrade from the sinclair spectrum, The quality this new hardware could churn out was incredible.

PC Wise...

9700 Pro - Massive jump in power, resolution and quality

WD Raptors in Raid 0 - Retired but could hold their own nearly 8 years later

Mobile Athlon XP 2500+ 1.83GHz stock, run constantly at 2.5 and even booting at 2.83 on air.

Flat scren monitor - I was clearing out my loft the other day and found a sharp 15" monitor that I must have paid £250 back in 2400. Sure it was small but really nice quality image. I skipped it the other day, couldnt give it away ;)

Q6600 - 3.6 for years and still fine

I got a Jaz Piper MP3 player for Christmas back in 2000 ish. It had 32mb and could hold around 9 songs but wow...it was another world!

Unified remote on my android phone, controlling my media pc from my bed is the only thing that has impressed me tech wise in ages.

1) The Nintendo N64
When First loaded up the wave racing game (can't remember the name) with the blue sea and you bouncing off waves etc was awesome

2) GTX8800
Even though I was already running a 7900, when it went and BFG send me a 8800 instead as they discontinued the 7900, it was a biiiig WOW, that card was a proper beast

3) ADSL
From barely 4kBs to 60kBs was like heaven.

4) 17" CRT to 24" LCD to Dual Mon
it's just great with this much space, multi-tasking is just much easier, especially say.. borderless window WoW raiding and surfing, the switch is seemless.

5) Z5500 surround
Cost me £200+ but it worth it, still using it today, combined with CS:S and Battlefield (can't remember which one) with bullets and explosion left right and center, and having be able to tell whether it was left right or center was just sooo much better. Guess some credit goes to sound card aswell

My first dedicated sound card was a wow moment
As my first home cinema surround speakers with dedicated creative sound card was incredible
The jumping from 128kbit/s download to 1Mbit/s to 20Mbit/s was a wow moment

My 8800GTS years ago epic card and is still going strong in my brothers rig now (my old rig).

I bought my current rig (i7 930) 2 years ago and was simply astounded at the performance it was greased lightning on acid compared to my C2D I had

Stoner81.

Im still rocking sli 8800gts's they running fine, but definitely due for an upgrade.

PS1 was amazing when that came out, likewise the PS2 and then the 360/PS3 cant wait for next gen, but dont think the wow factor will be quite the same
