I like chatty threads like this. Helping me get closer to the MM...

I'm really not going to wait for Bulldozer. Based on AMDs track record I really can't see this performing that much better than sandy bridge. On top of that if you get some sandy bridge boards you'll be able to use ivybridge which I would be SERIOUSLY suprised if bulldozer came anywhere near.

the thing is, that I'll only be upgrading around my birthday anyways, so I will wait to see reviews, and ivy bridge will be too expensive for me anyway

How expensive will ivy be? I assumed it would follow their track record of a processer around £150 and one around £200-250.
