right , the situation is like this. I work in a small-medium firm as an engineer. The boss for the last year is giving us a hell of a time and is always , i mean a month and a half late approximately , handing late our wages. And on top of that we have no word on whats going on with the wages and if and when are we going to get paid , no word whatsoever!

now i am not sure if the boss or the bosses have any obligation for letting us know when are we going to get paid , but FFS we have bills to pay and need to make plans etc.

now , i know my boss for 3-4 years and he is a very fine person , but these events lately have made me mad. I woke up in the morning and i feel like being drawn to slavery :(

how should i make him clear that i cannot put up this any longer , give me any ideas

How about

Can you let us know when we are likely to get paid in future as we all have bills
to pay and plans to make

[OT] Why do you never write full lines? You always half half of the sentence on the next line down[/OT]

well it does face some sort of financial problems but it does because of some stupid decisions on buying equipment...shouldnt they make sure we get paid first and then sort out equipment/machinery needs?

To make it fit a bit better on the page

If i hadnt enter'ed down on that line it would have had one word
on the next line down which looks messy in my
opinion

I've had a few friends in similar situations and most of them have very quickly been without a job. Failure to pay the staff is normally a sign of some serious financial problems. If I were you I'd have a word with the boss and keep my ear to the ground for a new job.

It's to make his posts

look less like

spam.

/spam :p

If the business is having financial problems it's best to corner the guy and get him to level with you all, because if you're about to need new jobs you should at least know it. It might actually be best to jump ship before it sinks (like a stinking rat:D).

how can a comapny be in a serious financial crisis and still be able to buy software worth of tens of thousands of €?

That depends if they have paid for it yet, or if it is on credit.

Paying you late might mean that they have cash-flow issues rather then a lack of capital.

Either way it isn't the best idicator of finacial strength or planing.

If there is no financial problem then it's an indicator of how much you are valued.

I'm told this is more usual than you might think: companies invest in new equipment/premises/whatever knowing they don't have the money, and then try to save it by paying their staff late. If you don't stand up for your rights he'll keep treating you like slaves. It's likely that he's going to reply with the "Oh I know it's not right paying you guys late, but I justs didn't wantto have to let any of you go so I didn't have a choice". I've heard that one used before - guilt-tripping you and threatening you at the same time that he's going to start laying people off if you all insist on getting paid on time.
