Late speeding fine.

No but i dont see why he should have to go through all the faff of sending off a cheque, having it returned to him, going to a police station, waiting for a letter, and sending that back with MORE money because he was a couple of days late paying ? who won in that situation ?

It't not a case of "who won", it's a case of it teaches your dad/the OP's brother not to be a lazy-ass.

if he just sent it off within the very lenient time scale then he wouldn't have had any fuss. i dont get what the problem is?

I got done fopr speeding at Beltoft on the M180, scamera van on the hard shoulder. This was on the 6th of May. Filled the form in over the coming 7 days (kept forgetting about it ) and sent it off. Then went to mexico for a fortnight a week later thinking nothing of it. Came home to a very stern letter saying I would be going to court, lots of points etc.

Rang the fuzz up and explained I had sent them the NIP thing and they simply asked me to send them a fax stating it was me *** dun it. No futher issues, and they seemed fairly helpful.

Get him to phone up and speak to a person mate, may just sort it out

You usually get a reminder if you are late paying a NIP. They much prefer to have the money rolling in nice and efficiently without the hassle of court.
