Shame on here is punishment enough, he obviously hadn't fully thought through what he was doing and now regrets it. I think emailing him was uncalled for, really.

100% agree. I know we would all like people to get punished for crimes or things that are not right but we should also remember people make stupid mistakes. Some people learn from them and some people don't.

I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt just this once and i hope he doesn't do anything like that again but putting him in a position where he will be worried he will be taken to court and jepordise his career is not on.

I know people will say he brought it on himself which is true but a bit less of judge and jury wouldn't go amiss.
