Laurence Fox

Tony believes that only white people can be racist (which shows his complete ignorance of anything outside of his little bubble). Apparently you are also a signed up member of the KKK if you have some questions about the need for a "Black History Month" and by extension of that having it shoved in your face by corporations, rabble rabble racist racist hurp derp.
But thats not true I dont think only white people can be racist. So knowing that fact what have you got to say now?

I really dont understand why certain people that are obviously racist keep acting like they are offended by people pointing out what they say is racist. Just because racists think what they say is right it doesnt make it not racist.

Im not being funny but well, what was your point?

The problem is people like Boris, farage, Fox et al trying to make what they think are either factual or just humous digs at race, religion and 'wokism'. It might be a small number but it is pretty mainstream.
My point was that for all of your complaining about how terrible we all are, the UK is actually a really nice place to live, which funnily enough was Lawrence Fox's point on question time where he was then attacked for daring to suggest that criticism of Megan Markle perhaps wasn't drive by racism, but by the way she has behaved. I then provided an article and links to racism across Europe and how we fare which you seem to have glossed over. You also haven't answer my question again of compared to what? Where exactly has racism under better control than the UK and what can we learn?

As for the human rights lawyers are you referring to the Nigerian drug dealers deportation being stopped? Is this not a reasonable thing to be concerned about? Is this something you feel the UK tax payer should burden themselves with?

"A tribunal judge had initially ruled in favour of the man, concluding that deportation would disproportionately interfere with his partner and children's right to respect for family life and that he was 'most unlikely' to reoffend."

The problem is that, in your opinion, questioning the politics of division behind "black history" month makes someone a racist in your eyes. I honestly don't believe most people in this country see things the way you do ?

I think it points to a level of narcissism that you immediately resort to attacks and claims of racism whenever someone disagrees with your viewpoint.

You're a broken record at this point, he's a racist, she's a racist, everyone's a racist because they don't agree with my demented viewpoints!

What no? I was pointing out how rhetoric from someone in either power or the limelight can say things that lead crazies to do crazy things.
Britain’s top lawyers have written to Priti Patel to express their concern after a knifeman threatened to kill an immigration solicitor last month in an attack colleagues say was directly motivated by comments made by the home secretary.

On 7 September a man with a large knife entered a London law firm and launched a “violent, racist attack” that injured a staff member before the assailant was overwhelmed.

A confederate flag and far-right literature were allegedly found in a bag he was carrying. According to documents about the incident, police described the knife as a “weapon designed to cause serious harm”.

Days before, on 3 September, Patel dismayed the legal profession by claiming “activist lawyers” were frustrating the removal of migrants.

Patel appears not only to have ignored its concerns but doubled down on her attacks against immigration lawyers.

Last Sunday, almost a month after the knife attack, Patel used her speech at the Conservative party conference to target “do-gooders” and “lefty lawyers,” claiming those who represented asylum seekers were “defending the indefensible”.

Two days later, in his keynote speech, Boris Johnson went even further, claiming the entire criminal justice system was “being hamstrung by lefty human rights lawyers”. It remains unclear to what extent, if any, the PM was aware of the knife attack.

Politics of division yeah?

Derp. Id assume that people that dont agree with your demented view would probably not be a racist.

What examples can you provide of rhetoric from people in power in the UK government that has lead to people doing crazy things?

I believe in personal responsibility so don't generally accept that this holds any weight anyway.

Are you really not reading the quote?

Even outside the government lets look at the Jo cox murder, the guy that drove from Wales (?) to crash into some muslims out side the mosque. Surely you cant deny those thoughts are put into their heads by others.

Seriously what?

You know what Tony I can't actually be arsed to rebut these points I've got better things to do with my evening. These are all complex issues, not one of which you can lay directly at one persons feet.

Personal responsibility. You know, not blaming others for your mistakes? Oh never mind of course you don't get that.

The problem is I feel the same way to be honest I just seem to be repeating the same thing over and over again with people replying with the same stuff. Its pointless really but it is what it is.

Personal responability is fine indivualy but not everyone is the same. Some people take their guidance from loud mouths. I mean I wouldnt read a story about lawyers defending immigrants and go to try and kill someone either. Nor would I get groomed online and drive hundreds of miles to drive into people outside a place of worship.

Yea that happened after 22 people were blown up by a fanatical muslim though right? Might have something to do with it....

But hang on, you're one of those "nothing to do with Islam" people aren't you?

I can't believe anybody can seriously compare Laurence Fox to Katie Hopkins. He's a pretty sensible guy with sensible ideals. She, on the other hand, is absolutely racist gutter trash.

Actualy I take back the Katie Hopkins comparison I made and change it for a posher better articulated Farage comparison with probably the same overall fan base.

Far too sweeping a statement, I am a fan of Nigel Farage but draw the line at some Thespian desiring to further split the vote of the Right, seemingly for his own aggrandisement. Neither approach the educational level or oratory skills of earlier politicians of similar mindset, like Powell. But given the constant dumbing down of university pass levels and the specious courses offered, that's hardly surprising :(

Hopkins made completely unfounded accusations on Twitter and got her ass sued, lost her house.

Fox just last weekend made completely unfounded accusations of paedophilia against someone on Twitter and is getting his ass sued.....i hope he's not about to get a new kitchen or anything.

Pretty fair comparison to be honest.

context is king. The guy suing Fox called him a racist. He's not a racist. Fox called him a paedophile in response. Not because Fox believed he was, but because that was an equally unfounded accusation in response. But Fox is the one who gets sued for defamation.

Now, i don't for one second believe that was the best way to handle the situation, but the guy suing him is an absolute tool. if you want to throw around serious, baseless accusations on twitter like that, then be prepared for it. and don't cry when somebody does it back to prove a point.

So no, it's no fair comparison at all.

As james.miller points out, it was the initial mud slingers in Fox's case that went crying to lawyers - in Katie Hopkins case, the woman she slandered wasn't even the person she thought she was slagging off, it was someone comepletely different!
