Yeah i know theres another thread but its standard practice to create multiple threads of the same game when its due out soon aint it? :D

"Imagine a world where the only limits are those of your imagination."

^^^ ???

Can someone clarify something to me.... LBP is basically a platform game right? Albeit one where basically you can design the levels for it and share it with others. And have multiplayer in.

Thats it yeah?

Or am i way off base and it is something much much more exciting.....

It does seem to be getting a lot of hype, I'd be happy if it lived up to it. I'm certainly looking forward to this and have it pre-ordered but I don't seem to be as excited about this as most other people around here :p

It looks fun yeah and different, but that's it. Can see it being refreshing but not as addicting and having as much replay value as people seem to think it will.

Still, a must buy on release.

Over hyped, it'll be fun for a bit but people will just forget about it after a month.

Like every XBLA arcade game ever.

Nearl every current generation game has been over hyped and not lived up to its promise. So I take every game with a pinch of salt and let the game do the talking not some smug person paid to talk about how good the game is going to be.

This will be fantastic for an hour or two, but I really can't see this having ANY lasting appeal. For me anyway.

looks decent enough
but most seem to be hyping dressing up a sackboy? and playing levels from mario?
dont seem too fresh to me if thats the main idea?

I am Overhyped on this, but with me being a FPS head, and i love being a little kid again (now and then) this will probs give me 30 hours before it collects dust!

That quote is true though. You can create almost any kind of level just by being inventive. I've seen vids of levels which have racing, fighting and even some sport levels like one were you had to score a penalty to proceed.

Every game gets overhyped unfortunately, it doesn't mean the game will be bad it just means it won't be the "awesomest, most fanasticest, wonderfullest" game that they are making it out to be. Same with GTA4, Halo 3 and Bioshock games that I really enjoyed and were well worth the purchase but weren't ever going to live up to the godlike hype.

I think it has a lot of potential but i did learn from Crysis that we shouldn't expect too much from a game.

I didnt watch a lot of GTA4 vids but was excited enough about it and i really enjoyed the game.

I think i will enjoy it when i get a PS3 as i have only read interviews about it and watched the presentation at the Sony E3 press conference.

If a game is being overhyped by the fans and not a marketing company, then that can only mean one thing. Halo 3 & GTA4 were shoved down our throats.
