Hi,

Which is better? A 32" Sony Bravia LCD or a 32" Plasma Screen?

I am such a novice and about to purchase a 32" Sony Bravia LCD...

Please help

Thanks

Smallest plasma is 37", other than that what is better is down to what you are going to use it for, and after that a subjective judgement.

You can get 32" plasmas now. But yes I agree with you, we need to know what the OP is going to use it for.

got to agree kreeeee, i've got a 32" Samsung LCD in my room and the parents have just got a new Panasonic 42" Plasma and sadly the SD picture from digital and sky+ puts my display to shame.

Agreed. Lcd's only really shine in gaming.

The only plus point of an LCD for gaming is that they can look less realistic and more cartoonish, plus won't get IR and screenburn. Otherwise a plasma is superior, especially with the motion handling and lack of smearing.

i don't have 1st hand experience of that but gaming on my PS3's on my 42" and 50" panny's is just awesome!!!!!

Thats good to know actually cause i have never seen gaming on a plasma before! :D

The only reason i said LCD was better was cause my crappy Samsung 40" LCD, whilst rubbish at SD, is pretty darn good when it comes to gaming.

On another note (sorry for hijacking), i have been offered £400 for my Samsung LCD. Considering i paid £720 for it last February, do you think i should sell it and get the PX80 for £499? It will obviously mean paying £99 more again for a TV, but do you think thats a reasonable offer for it?

lol i see.

Well aside from the fact that the PX80 is TONS TONS TONS better than my Samsung. Is £400 a decent offer? Probably just being a cheapskate here :p

:D:D:D

Tvs depriciate a lot, just check out your model number in the tv classifieds section over at avforums to see the sort of price the set commands in the 2nd hand market. But to be frank someone offering you that much for the tv with the PX80 being soo cheap, I would sell it to him asap and spend that £99. Don't let him know that he is paying over the odds :p
