Le Mans 24 hour race - 2015

Was it Eurosport it was on last year?
Had to be some of the most pathetic coverage I've ever seen. Utter contempt for the viewer.
Must have watched about 14 hours of adverts, with long ad breaks sometimes happening within 5 minutes of each other. Not to mention the fact they had you hop between channel 1/2, as they needed show some football build up crap, and even a Le Mans highlight show, during the race...

I'll be looking to find coverage on the internet. That channel deserves to go bust after last year.

How dare a commercial channel fund a 24 hour live broadcast with advertising, while also doing their best to accommodate other sporting events and those who don't want to watch motorsports, or who turn up half way through wanting an update

Rolleyes not required...
Why would it make sense to switch the coverage between primary and secondary channels? Why would you stop showing the race on one for 45 minutes, to show a highlights program of the race you are currently showing?

I can only assume you didn't watch it on the channel(s) last year, as this ad coverage was much worse than anything I had ever seen previously. (Including ITVs end of race miss blunder).
The Twitter feed was a great read at the time.

Check out the WEC site. It's about £8 for Le Mans coverage. Can view it on your PC and apple/android devices.

Will give it a look! Cheers! :)

I try and watch as much as I can in Eurosport every year, but I have other things on so actually like the update programs.

Also, not everyone receives both channels so they have to jump to 2 in order to show sports that have a regular slot on 1. This is also a reason for the update shows as not everyone gets full 24 hour coverage.

Considering that, and the fact Eurosport isn't in one of the expensive packages, I think they do a bloody good job.

Audi,

I really hate Porsche, but they have Webber :(
And Webber is awesome.

What's garage 56 this year?

Yeah I'm a Porsche fan, as they were the first to take hybrid racing seriously with the 911 RSR Hybrid, and the 919 is the furthest reaching of the 'conventional' LMP1 cars. Plus, Webber :D

I love the Nissan too, but I can't help feeling a bit meh towards them after they basically murdered the DeltaWing in order to make their fake electric car that lasted 1 lap.

If it wasn't for Nissan there wouldn't have been the Deltawing. It didn't have an engine until they stepped in.

I think I saw that this will be broadcast on Quest for those without Eurosport.

- in fact it's a 2 hour show for the start, then 1 hour highlights and then 1 1/2 hours for the finish.

Might not be a bad way of catching the action for those who are a bit time limited or don't have access to a live stream.
