I would be really happy to see #5 win the day, but no counting chickens..
How many times has Ines Taittinger gone off at Mulsanne? If you repeatedly fail to get round a specific corner then something tells me you shouldn't be driving there. Nothing sexist there btw, there are plenty of blokes who also have no business driving a racing car IMHO
And that marshall struggling with the extinguisher - wtf? Surely all extinguishers should be triple checked they're ready to go before the race with spares on immediate standby just in case? People's lives could be at risk here!
Did I hear correctly that Toyota have been trying to win Le Mans on and off since the mid 80s, and no Japanese make has won since 91?

Correct.
Mazda was the last Japanese manufacture to win Le Mans with the 787B. Ironically it had a another British drive at the helm by the name of Johnny Herbert.
So, basically, of the 'drivers' who are part of the Sky F1 team, only Damon Hill HASNT won Le Mans.
WOOOOOW THERE!
Chickens before they hatch, and all that!

Or put another way the only member of the Sky F1 team who's dad won Le Mans.
Anyone else feeling the whole Ford thing is a bit off? From what I understand, they turned up and won with the GT40 in 66, 67, 68 & 69 and then promptly pushed off for 47 years. Now they've decided they want some 50th anniversary glory so they've build a car specifically tailored to winning Le Mans, with no road-going version available, got dispensation from all the other teams to race, then taken the mick by trying to dodge the BoP regs by sandbagging.
I really don't understand why people say there's this big 'connection' or 'history' with Ford and Le Mans just because of a few years half a century ago. Not in the same league as the manufacturers who've stuck at it for year on year such as Porsche or Audi.
I really hope they aren't going to pull that 82 Ferrari in, for such a trivial issue, during the day, with 20 minutes to go...
