Le Mans Ultimate (Official WEC game)

Looks interesting but I probably won’t jump on the early access. At least until I’ve seen some reviews.

It looks fairly limited to single race sessions so no career mode etc. It has a beta feel to it in places. The weather isn’t sorted out yet, for example puddles don’t do anything. Otherwise it actually looks good and seems like a good sim. I believe it’s using rfactor 2 physics so generally the feedback from pro sim racers so far has been good.

Should really wait for VR support to arrive but might as well jump in at a cheap price and test flat screen, can always refund if it's terrible. I know it's early access, which was a last minute surprise only announced a week or two back but if the weather isn't working yet, which is something inherited from RF2, that does ring alarm bells!

Looks ok and was cheap, not triple A, yet, it will be interesting to see how or if it develops.

Crikey, makes you wonder how many bugs there are that they don't know about?

I love Rfactor 2, Love WEC but hate motorsport games  Don't think I will buy it just yet I want to see if its going to be supported and have some form of multiplayer.

I have most of the tracks and GTE/LMP2 cars in RF2 anyway.

In my very short time testing so far. Couldn't get any AI opponents with me in the session when setting up a single race weekend at Le Mans. My wheels force feedback, vibration motors (CSW v2/Porsche 918 rim) are going absolutely crazy any time I touch a curb - anyone have on suggestions on this one? I've tried turning the curb effects in game to 0% and the shock function in the tuning menu of my wheel is set to off.

The game looks OK with everything set to ultra but the way the shadows on the armco draw in right next to you as you go down the straights is visually distracting and sticks out a mile. Probably wouldn't be as distracting if I had some other cars on circuit with me. Sound was fine, I was driving the LMP2. Was getting over 110 FPS by myself @ 4K, daytime sunny weather, 2pm start time.

In the video posted above Jimmy says he was advised to avoid Ultra settings for the graphics. Try high/very high?

Stress tested at Le Mans. Ultra settings 2x MSAA with a full grid of cars starting towards the back, wet conditions 10:30pm start time. Lowest I saw was mid 40's on the start/finish straight but once through the first couple of corners it was back up to around 60 and then continued to increase as the cars thinned out.

On the FFB front I discovered that setting FFB smoothing to 9 greatly reduced the issue with my wheel going crazy over curbs and rumble strips and cuts down on the general road chatter. Overall FFB feels weird and no where good as I remember back when I last played RF2 in any meaningful way, which must be around 8 years ago now - it was well before Studio 397 came on the scene.

Msg share price rose slightly and returned back down on same day. Already hotfixes going in but I still question whether this game will actually leave early access…

Well, I’ve settled into it now, seems pretty good, graphically similar to amsr2, just better tracks and cars, apart from rain in Bahrain zero bugs for me.
