Leadtek or Gainward?

So if you only keep the card for a year, it does not matter which manufacturer you choose.

Realistically what is the chance of you hanging onto the card for > 1yr anyway?
 
Well I'm sure not everyone upgrades every year or so and if another good card doesnt come out in a year, then you might be holding on to your card for a while..see 8800gtx lol
 
Well the Leadtek has crept up to the same price as the Gainward over the past few days.

Question now is whether to grab one now or hang on for another week to see if prices go back down or there's another TWO offer.
 
US$ has strengthened 5% in the past two weeks, so I think prices will not drop until the 55nm 200 series cards arrive. Cards may even go up slightly in the short term.
 
My gainward 280's have just turned up. Hoooge box with lots of packing just for a card, Driver CD and two connectors.
 
I'm tempted to buy the GTX280 from Leadtek, do you think my E8400 and Corsair 520w PSU would be ok for it?
I'm a bit reluctant though as it only has 2 year warrenty and I'd like to keep it for at least 3 years...

I know nobody knows the recommended specs for Call of Duty 5 and Battlefield 3 when it finally gets here, but this card should play them nicely shouldn't it?
 
well cod5 is useing the call of dudy 4 engine so if you play cod4 fine youll play 5 just great :)

battlefield 3 will use frostbite engine which if they use the exact same one they did in the console version of battlefield bad company then it should also play it lagg free :)

Just ordered the Leadtek for £216 using the 10% discount code. :eek:

I'm gonna whack this X2 on the bay as now that I've had a play with it I've realised it's way too much overkill for my needs. :D

OcUK is destroying the competition at the moment even if you take take advantage of the 10% vouchers and free shipping, hehe. :D

£216 is a total steal for a GTX280 :D

Been surviving with a 7600GT since selling my 8800Ultra in June - finally I can play some games tomorrow \o/
