I'm hoping I can maybe get some advice on this, I had an email this morning from riot that my account was banned for cheating and or using 3rd party mods. Thing is I haven't played for well over a year now and I have never used mods or cheated, didn't even know there was mods.

Anyway I looked on the forums which I can no longer post having my account banned but there was a post to contact support via a ticket, I have done but they are not reading what I am putting. I am telling them my account has been hacked and I haven't played and I havent used said mods etc etc. Anyway they just keep repeating the same thing that I have been banned for cheating and the matter is closed. I cant seem to find a way to get in touch with someone who isn't a robot and to get actual help.

This is becoming a real horror story with Riot Game at the front of it, what can I do? I'm getting really angry and frustrated and worked up that I am going to lose my hundred of pounds worth I have spent on the game.

Could always ask what ip address was being used at the time and from what area, then compare to yours and your area and isp

Thing is in my second email when they stated I was a cheater I asked for the IP and with there reply they completely ignored this request. Tempted to make another ticket as this person I'm dealing with is more like a scripted robot.

Move on, its a patheic game with a cancerous child like community so getting banned is actually doing you a favour.

I hope you have more luck than i did back on COD4 with this method ^^

i got banned on COD4 for "Multihack" apparently and i could see my account had been logged in from another IP/Country and even they could see this but still wouldn't unban me.

I liked to support the game so bought a lot of skins, a lot. No luck chaps, even got a supervisor to come and look but again got a generic answer to my emails.

"I have fully investigated, and considering the circumstances, I am sorry to inform you that we won't be able to help you in this case."

They also said they wont look into the IP activity as that is an invasion of privacy.... They have no clue. Well my account is lost, they don't care enough to do a real investigation. I may not have played for a year but its a game me and my friends would return to every now and then. Cannot believe they can get away with this in honesty and I feel so powerless as you cant even speak to a real person just through tickets to the uncaring automatic robots. This should really be highlighted in the media as I know id avoid a company that demonizes victims like this.

is this any help ?

Those of you who got hacked, just want to let you know, hang in there... I got my account back in about 3.5 weeks after submitting my ticket to support. It does take them awhile to respond, imagine they are very very busy, but just a couple of words of advice and how it works:

1) Everything needs to be escalated from your first submission. It goes first from support to another support higher up and then to the billing department. Player support does not have access to your RP purchase transactions and cannot make the decision in giving you your account back so no need to try to garner sympathy from them because they can't really help you except escalate it to the higher ups

2) Submit everything methodically, so the listed questions when you first email support, put down in this format:

a) Summor Name:
b) User ID:
c) Creation Date of Account:
etc.

Do not put it in a paragraph form or else they'll ask you to resubmit it again since they don't have the time to dig through the information if you submit in paragraph form

3) Do not ask for status as everytime you reply, sends you back to the end of the line since there is activity on the ticket. They will get to you, it's like getting a number a Starbucks, they won't end up skipping over you.

4) Riot has an internal (SOP) Standard Operating Procedure in handling recovery. You will first be asked about 10 questions. A week or so later, they will respond back with about 10 more questions. A week or so later, about another 10 questions specifically about RP purchases, This information will be sent to their billing department where they will verify the ownership of your account and will email you a password reset from there. You can probably find all the questions they will ask you on the forums somewhere, do not bother trying to answer all these questions at once.... remember it's a step by step process, just answer the questions they ask and no more.

5) Be patient, they will get to you. Will definitely take sometime. You can probably prove your ownership in one email, but it's a sizeable company with procedures etc., part of it to protect our personal info from getting into the wrong hands

SUPPORT FOR COMPROMISED ACCOUNTS
"Tactical decision, summoner!" - Lux

If you believe your account has been compromised, don’t panic! Take a deep breath and follow the checklist below:

If you believe your account was compromised through phishing, or through an online scam: Update all the passwords you use for online accounts such as e-mail, social media, billing websites, and other video games. This is especially important if any of these passwords are the same as your League of Legends account.
If you believe your account was compromised by a virus or Trojan: Immediately use your anti-virus program to scan and remove any unwanted programs from your computer. If you need a free anti-virus program then you can click here to download Avast! For more information on how to remove viruses, you can click here to visit Microsoft’s guide.
If the hijacker contacts you with a ransom request, do not give in to the hijacker's demands! Treat this situation as you would any scam attempt mentioned above - chances are that the hijacker is only trying to exploit the situation further.
Once your computer and existing accounts are secure, contact Player Support. Please be sure to include the following information:

Unfortunately I have done all this and they are just not interested. Can you chargeback purchases made years ago? I left them an unfriendly reply and blocked the email addresses, want nothing else to do with this company and I would warn anybody else that they are not safe to use.

They also said they wont look into the IP activity as that is an invasion of privacy....

An invasion of whose privacy?

If it's your IP then you can request that information under the DPA, if they're stating that it's not your IP, then they're basically admitting that it wasn't you...

Am I the only one who reads this as "I got caught cheating, I am not happy about it because I spent money on skins, and they wont help me".

If you hadnt played for a year, and didnt actually care, why make a post about it? Seems a bit fishy to me!

They continue to ignore me telling them that I had no idea it was hacked until I received an email saying I was banned.

Musty is there any need to call me a liar and troll me? I'm clearly frustrated by this hence the thread and seeking of advice due to the lack of support available from Riot. I would never cheat and also if I was cheating when I was playing why would I only play on the single lane map or against bots? surely to cheat would be to play competitive games getting an edge. I'd also like to point out that one does not need to be active for an account/game to still have value at a future date or even for nostalgias sake. I'd be equally frustrated if someone had taken my FF7 which I haven't played in 5 years. Its clear that Riot do not care about there genuine customers so why would I want to continue to support them? But please unless you are going to offer something constructive please move along I don't need extra annoyances.

To be fair your post is a bit fishy. I've had a LoL account for 6 years, took lengthy breaks over that period and I've never had any problems.

I hear the 'omg I got hacked and now I'm banned' speech a little too much these days.

Beat me to it.

You do realise that if you post on an open forum you might get responses that you don't like...?

I stick by my statement. You seem waaay to upset for someone who hasn't been caught red handed.

Most game companies ban fully only when they are pretty certain with substantial evidence .. so they must have something on you to warrant it.

Otherwise why is it in their interest to ban someone who spends real money in their FTP game?

Ive had it since it was a beta, First purchase was Warwick second was teemo. I don't see how it can sound fishy and I have not seen such a post before. I stayed away from the toxic peeps after a few bad games. Maybe this is why I'm being dismissed so much by riot maybe they just assume I'm another idiot child just like you two have done?

Thing is I don't have to justify myself to you, I know the truth and I know ive been treated unfairly and I'm only after advice in what I can do about it but its obvious that I cant do anything. You say they have evidence and they probably do but its not on me but the account which I know for a fact I havent used third party. How would you expect someone to react when they have been banned from a game they have spent money on for something they haven't done and when you seek help from the people who have done the banning they don't want to listen to you? its extremely irritating and frustrating is that it is and if you were experiencing this do you really think you would be able to stay cool about it?

I think the reason why you cant get anywhere is because you havent played for over a year. Its quite possible whatever has been going on with your account has been going on for a long long time if you had been playing it regularly you would have noticed not long after it happened and then they would have done something about it. The other person using your account could have been quite toxic to others etc and could have had a lot of complaints from other players which finally culminated in the ban. Even stuff I dont play for ages I log into now and again to make sure my account is okay, eg World of Tanks not played it for months but I log in now and again to keep it live and check its okay in case I want to return. Spent a lot of money on it to. Same with World of Warships.

I`m not saying its your fault or anything but you can understand why they dont want to do anything about it for all you know your "thief" could have been a major headache and I bet its covered in their TC's about the account being your responsibility ie if it gets hacked it needs to be reported straight away, not like a year later after its been banned.

Just saying.
