*** League of Legends ***

Morde is like a lot of tanks though in that he's quite poor early game. His damage isn't that amazing either unless you gear up appropriately, but his skills all add to his shield, and that's why he can appear so tough, especially when he's wading through mobs, as he's basically getting hp from the shrapnel leech.
He's not as unkillable as some of the other characters can be (Trynd with his ulti played well can be downright nasty as an example and I've seen him decimate an entire team by himself)

Mord is immense early game.

He has almost unparalleled lane dominance. His skills are mana-less and regenerate a shield which generally negates pretty much all harassment from his opponents. He can clear creeps very easily without falling foul of harassment or being zoned out unless he's in a 1v2 lane (and even then it takes smart creep management to zone him out).

He falls down when focused mid-late game. If your team has a good balance and takes out the opposition carries effectively Mord isn't a problem, but if your team isn't switched on and one of them gets caught away from the group and dies early (particularly an AD carry), then you're going to be in for a much tougher time.

With a full load of items he is a force to be reckoned with, but there is a reason no high level players bother with him. He's not as good as a proper ranged carry, has minimal mobility and zero CC.

Overall Mord is a great pubstomper, but he absolutely should be played in a solo lane.

So just hit level 20 and got some runes to buy!

I main Morgana + MF but will buy my Morg rune page first, just need some help to see what's what :)

Currently I'm thinking health quints - boring I know but hey everyones at it - after that I'm stuck. I feel cooldowns are something that can definitely be worked on and then possibly mana regen and magic pen?

edit: Just to help out my build normally consists of Sorc boots/ Mejai's/ Road of Ages. After that it's situational but I'm normally doing well enough to get some more AP items :D

standard caster runes are magic pen reds, scaling mp5 yellows, flar cdr blue and flat health quints, and they work very well for morg.

scaling mana regen yellows are some of the best runes in the game as it allows you to ignore mana regen items entirely for many champs, including morg. i take dorans ring as first item to help me through the first few levels but thats it

Cool I'll check it out in a sec.

Dorans ring + health pot is always my starting item with her and will sometimes go for double dorans ring if I'm forced out of lane early. Lucky that doesn't happen too often but it does give a good early advantage if things aren't going my way.

As for the mana regen, I'm quite conservative with casting - although that is somewhat dependant on who I'm laning with.

Time to ***** some IP though

Speaking of spunking some IP away.

I'm after a new champion and I'm not sure whether to buy Anivia or Kog'Maw. Malzahar is one that interests me too actually. Help me out here!

i like to concentrate on farming on morg, obviously i will take the shot if i see an opening but i dont like being overly aggressive with morg (until 6 :p). levels 5+ you can farm the ranged minions with one soil so its very easy. with mana regen runes you can probably take a dark binding shot every other creep wave and still sustain your farm.

your passive lets you stay in lane for a long time, especially if you farm well. i normally dont back until i get at least 2k, for my needlessly large rog + boots and ward. i normally rush zhonyas first for the synergy with her ult

Just from reading around most people don't rate Mal as he doesn't give much to the team but can completely dominate people 1v1.

Kog is classed as a 'top-tier' damager and Anivia is also highly rated but I've tried her and she's very difficult to play!

anivia is difficult champ to play but a fun one with her wall tricks :D. absolute beastly burst damage as well.

kog is your typical carry with a decent ult and can be built to wreck tanks (and everything else). %dmg skills + madreds = lol.

malzahar is just dull imo

Basically what I couldn't be bothered to type. Mord is only good at pubstomping. He is an awful tank mid/late as his damage is easy to ignore (especially if you have any MR), there is essentially no reason to focus him.

Mord isn't a tank, even before the recent changes.

He's just a slightly more durable caster.

I went with Kog in the end :)

Good pick. I play him now as my main and he just destroys teams once you get your attack speed to around 2/sec and madreds :D.

The skill is with the Ult and killing fleeing champs with out of screen/sight shots. I must get about 1/3 of my kills this way.

Kog is free to play this week isn't he? :p

I realised this after I bought him :p I have played both Anivia and Kog before though. I was only posting in here to help me decide on which would be the better choice.

I must admit, I'm not playing him as well as I know he can be played at the moment but once I get to grips with him I should do better. Any tips on a general item build? At the moment I get a bloodrazor, last wisper and IF.

I started playing after seeing this thread. Peeked my interest as I was looking for a good mmorpg. I'm glad I came across it loads of fun... sure i'm the one that dies the most in every team and still trying to iron out what goes where but loads of fun.

I'm C0d3rB0i btw you'll tell with the horrible defeat log...

Oh and played with Kog. demolished a team he's pretty sweet. So the alternate champ. every week? hmm wonder if I should buy him too?

P.S. If someone would trust me with the Mumble Server info so I can see what it's like that would be nice :) Please :)

I go 21-0-9
Red Magic Pen
Yellow half attack speed/half HP per lev
Blue Attack speed
Quints 2Magic Pen/1 Flat HP

Ghost/Teleport

I start with vamp scep for 12%leech, will build into belt (Emblem of Valor) on first trip back (costs about 500gold) along with bloodrazor (1kgold).

Faster you get razor, the faster you'll get your creep kills. Next bow (1k) and as and when build up to Madreds by the 18-20min mark (along with Emblem of Valor). Then I'll get another bow. Sorc boots and finish offs Last Whisper. Black Clever (destroys tanks) and depending now were doing in team fights. Either finish off starks or start on Frozen Mallet (if team doesn't have Ashe).

With the above, you'll either get loads of kills if you hang back in team fights and wait for the other teams burst to finish then mop up everyone, and kill the runners with your ult. Once you get Madreds, you want to team fights to start asap, as you'll be doing 10%HP a hit+Basic damage (about 100 at the 20min stage).

Your late game attack speed should be around 1.9/2.2 depending if you finish Starks. With this build you will die lots in game, but in team fights until you get targeted, you'll drop the other teams health down quickly and can simple switch targets. Your defence really is your pure damage :D

I find it hard to justify 21/0/9 on any ranged carries, 21 in utility is just too important.

For Kog I spec him 9/0/21 and use Flash/Ghost, although in ranked when you can see what you face it's obviously prudent to be ready to swap Ghost for Cleanse if the opposition have silly CC/lots of Exhausts.

I pretty much always start with a Dorans Blade and go for Zerk Boots first since Kog is very vulnerable to ganks and certainly needs the mobility as soon as possible. After that it's usually a case of going for Madreds Bloodrazor followed by Banshees Veil and then capping it off with a Last Whisper (or a couple of Recurve Bows).

Frozen Mallet is useful on him, but it's expensive and I've found that you get more benefit from having a Recurve Bow or two sooner rather than a Frozen Mallet later. You shouldn't need the Mallet in a half decent team anyway as you should be whoring the red buff (another reason for 21 in utility).

As a physical DPS carry if youre not taking every relevant point in Attack that you can, you are nerfing yourself and your team. You shouldn't need more than 9 points in Utility.
