*** League of Legends ***

My biggest regret for this game was quitting it for nearly a year and coming back, while I feel I'm still a good player I had about 1200 games expirience and knew what champions could do what in terms of damage taken and received. Did a ranked last night and while it wasn't my sole fault that we lost I did terrible top vs Irelia, which is annoying... I was Lee Sin who doesn't counter Irelia but she was terrible and I had a natural fear of her... So my advice to anyone if you get annoyed don't quit as you will come back one day! Ranked so far this season Won 3 lost 5... We keep getting terrible, terrible people in our games.

Oddly enough it was draft, only playing that now in order to learn more about counter picking. People tend to play the 5 roles as well, when in blind you sometimes end up with 5 in lane.

I guess you just have to play around the baddies and hope the opposition have one as well.

The other thing I notice is a lack of warding around the map, one person putting them down never seems to be enough !

Yeah, boots + 3 is too popular.

Had some good games last night myself, with the usual ADC woes. I had an Ashe who insisted on sitting in the brush to try and kill the opposing team and needless to say, we ended up losing the bottom lane.

What happened to trying to last hit? Are people less inclined to want to last hit in normal games for some reason?

Might take the plunge and hit up a ranked game tonight. Should be fun :p

I don't see how changing the movement speed helps at all. The main reason people get boots is because it's all you can afford with your starting gold. You have to buy potions since it's your only available sustain and boots is one of the only other items that makes sense since. The only other items you can get and still afford enough potions don't fit into a lot of the characters builds.

The lack of CS is just down to the elo reset I guess. It's annoying me as well though. I was an ADC and I was ahead of the other carry in kill and creep score so I was happy to just farm away and harass the other carry when the opportunity appeared but my support constantly tried to start a fight and ended up getting us both killed because they were running a kill lane. Then mid fed because they were so keen to get a kill which didn't make sense either because they were massively ahead on CS.

People forget that it's mostly about CS, towers, and objectives. Kills are just a means to achieve these. They shouldn't be your main goal.

Dorans items are getting tweaked

Doran's Blade
Item Cost: 475
+80 Health +10 Attack Damage
Passive: Your basic attacks restore 5 health each time they hit an enemy.

Doran's Ring
Item Cost: 475
+80 Health +15 Ability Power +3 Mana Regen per 5 seconds
Passive: Restores 5 Mana when you kill an enemy unit.

Doran's Shield
Item Cost: 475
+100 Health +5 Armor +5 Health Regen per 5 seconds
UNIQUE Passive: Blocks 6 damage from champion basic attacks.

That doesn't help that much either. Doran's Ring doesn't restore any health at all so you're still going to have to get potions as an AP caster. The change to Doran's Blade is nice but realistically it's not a massive buff compared to 3% life steal so it still looks like the Blade will be a nice first back item rather then a good starting one especially since early on you won't be attacking too much.

That said it might now be good enough to run for a more passive lane so we'll see :) It would be nice to see some more variety for starting items rather then boots + pots x 8.

Got blamed by my entire team for losing last night :(
Playing Lux support with Twitch, and he was so overly aggressive, we ended up picking up the odd kill sure but usually he would die, and occasionally I would die too trying to support him.
Ended up after 15 mins with all the kills being in our lane, 7 to us and 19 to them.
Whats the point in being that aggressive? especially so early on .. overall our team comp was much more late game favoured too :( such a waste.

This is too true, played a few games last night (as jungle) but top was 2 v 1 so spent quite a while assisting, basically played the lane. However the top was just obsessed with getting the kills to the point we would get one low then he would turret dive get the kill but also get killed they i would get the rage for diving and getting us both killed (the other enemy was still top and safe under the turret).

You should join the mumble community, lots new people in there and if someone does make a basic error at least you can chat to them rather than relying on the impersonal message space.

Personally I'd suggest you form a team, i've had such a bad experience with random players be it in ranked or draft that I won't now play with more than 1 random if I can possibly help it. Played a couple of days ago with a friend, we said we would do ad/support. Another person on the team said he would lock in ad regardless of what we chose. So hey ho lets go with that and that ad proceeds to push the lane to the opponents tower - madness :( Despite continually asking him just to last hit

No thank you - team ranked or draft premade for me.

It's nice to sit on mumble, even with no mic. Plenty of good banter and tactics discussed.

I actually spectated mcknight last night and listened into the chat on mumble and while quite funny, it was also very good for learning some tips etc.

Ps Tals/mcknight, sorry I missed your invites last night, had to go afk and forgot to move rooms on mumble :(

So far this is pretty much what's happened to me. I keep getting stuck with people who just rage and throw blame around for everything. Only luck I've had so far was playing Janna support and that was because me and the ADC DESTROYED bottom lane so Ashe was hilariously fed. My attempt solo top failed because they made me pick first and the enemy counter picked afterwards. They were then surprised when I didn't own everyone (I actually managed to not feed or let him free farm) so It was my fault we lost even though the people who'd actually counter picked managed to lose their lanes. My jungle attempt failed because our bottom lane was so bad they died to the enemy Ezreal 7 times because they refused to play passively. Earlier I'd gone to the effort of buying an oracles and clearing the lane of wards and I then caught them out of position near the dragon. I managed to get a Skarner ulti off on Ezreal and our bottom lane then proceed to focus Taric instead and chased him while I'm standing there CCing Ezreal. They let me die, Ezreal escapes and I lose my oracles. They then proceed to bitch about how it's my fault because I didn't help bottom

People don't realise that it's only about 12 CS that equals a kill. If your enemy has 2 more kills than you but you're 30 cs ahead, you're actually ahead overall.

We played a game a day or two ago where the Fid had 32 kills by the end but his farm was so bad (about 80 after 40 minutes) that he wasn't actually ahead in gold. The only reason he was doing so well was we weren't warding properly and his fear is absurd.

See, this is the sort of mechanical information that is pure gold. It certainly changes the mindset when you sit back and think about it all.

The new masteries are certainly going to shake things up, love the gold per AA one in the Utility Tree, woot for support love!

Ruby Crystal

Going to be orgasmic on Swain/Anivia/Karthus!

I play Teemo a fair bit and once you've got your head around the playstyle (build FM and kite like a beast) then he's pretty easy. The amount of Teemos that I've seen that don't build a FM (which IMO is the most important item on AD Teemo, Ryalai's for AP) worries me.

Haven't played Teemo top in quite a while but I'll agree, AP Teemo is just horrible. Stop it. Now.

My core with him used to be Wits end & Mallet. Worked a treat :)

i do like LOL but i only play normal and people always spoil it for me. i have played 6 ranked games and only won 1 but it is a totally different gaming experience IMO. i wam w8ing for my bro to hit 30 so i can duo with him and tht will make it better hopfully lol.

You might be misinterpreting that item, it doesn't double the damage of the spell or attack, it just adds double whatever 4% of your current mana is to the attack/spell.

So with 2k mana, toggle on would add 160 damage to a spell or AA.
