Hi , think i have come to the right place :)
basically i would like to learn how to OC my rig i play a lot of BF which it runs fine but as usual a little more is always helpful.
Spec,s
Coolermaster Storm scout .
MB Asus M5A97
CPU AMD FX 4100 black edition 3.6 + coolermaster hyper 212
RAM 8 gig corsair Vengence
GPU Sapphire HD 7850 2gig OC edition
PSU Corsair HX 650
HD , ocz 120 gig agility SSD + 1tb Samsung spinpoint

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction where to start
Thanks

first put the voltage in manual, but don't change anything in the bios. Then put the multiplier up to so that the cpu frequency is 4.0ghz. Then boot back in windows and test it using prime 95 and monitor the temp using core temp or real temp. If it works, go back into the bios and keep putting the mutiplier up a bit until its unstable then if your temps are still good (below 62C when running prime 95) then put the cpu or core voltage up a notch and try the same frequency that it crashed on then repeat until you hit 62C in prime 95 then i would make but it back 100-200mhz and test on prime 95 for a longer period of time like 8-24 hours.

i have now got a nice steady 4340mhz at 51c .
not a massive overclock but am leaving it there for a while to see how it runs ;)

Overclocking can be a little scary at first, I'm still learning myself, just make sure you know your CPU's recommended max vcore and temps and don't exceed them, well done with your overclock. ;)

that should be fine for now. that's a decent oc at those temps and you have another 10c or so headroom for future ocing.
