Led polarity

Thanks mate.
Yea decided I would get rid of the heater that was the old lamp and make the whole unit much quieter and cooler running :)

May be able to make a reflector with some mirror card, as I have the glass dome lense already in the projector :)

Good luck to you, but you've taken a precision made light source with integrated optics optimised to place the bright spot and lamp focal point in a very specific location, and thrown an array of LEDs in there. You'll be doing well if you manage to get the right combination of optics to match what the lamp was doing for you previously.

Edit: Wait, what are we looking at here? Front is on the left, what's with the huge gap behind the lens? Is this one of those dirt cheap Chinese 800x600 'projectors'?

Yea it's a cheap Chinese projector. Cost me £3 on eBay, its 1024x768?? Though.
I just replaced the halogen lamp with an LED source, the optics will work the same

Am i missing something fundamental here? I thought by definition, since its a form of diode, that it wouldn't be an issue if you got it the wrong way round?

Don't forget you will likely need a very hefty constant current led driver for this.... 50 1 watt elements. With 50 watts no passive solution is going to be good

Edit never mind, guess it came with one
