LED running lights

I just drive with my main beams on all the time. </audi>

Ahhh so you're the **** i keep running into. :D

On topic: For those moaning about auto-lights, sounds like your sensors are a bit naff. On mine they work pretty well, so even on a bright day, if you suddenly go through dark rain clouds it will turn the lights on pretty quickly. The only annoying thing is if you've got tunnels/bridges that are fairly short (300-400yds) then it ends up turning them on.

As a biker, I dislike cars having DRL - obviously it makes sense from a safety point of view, but before DRL on cars, it used to be that if you saw a headlight in your rear view mirror, in the daytime, 90% of the time it was a bike (bikes have had headlights on all the time for donkeys years) or maybe a car being driven "enthusiastically" or a volvo.

Now, bikes merge in with everything else on the road and are much less visible. It used to be that a headlight in the daytime would catch your attention, now it's the norm. In fact years ago when I drove an original mini I had my headlights on in the daytime for extra visibility - in such a small car it was easy to disappear under/in people's mirrors.

My car doesn't have DRL and I too don't see the point to having my sidelights on in the day time.

If other drivers are having issues seeing cars in the day time, then they shouldn't be driving.

Not sidelights, but headlights. Sidelights aren't bright enough to be used as an equivalent to DRLs.

And while your second point is accurate, there's not a lot any of us can do about other people on the roads whereas I can at least try to make my car more visible to them by turning a switch one notch.

Auto wipers are great - as said, when it's raining they are always adjusting depending on the amount of rain and your vehicle's speed.

Auto lights are pointless though IMHO and I don't use mine a) because I usually want them on before the car thinks so and b) I don't want to wear my xenon bulbs and ballasts out by having them come on for 20 seconds every time I go under a bridge.

Hang on, your Ford auto wipers actually work? And properly? Mine are just about the most useless thing ever invented. Either going full pelt in the dry or switched off in thr pouring rain.

Next you'll be telling me you get consistently good DAB signal! :p
