Lefties

What questions? You're mixing your uniformed opinions with anecdotes which leads to wrong conclusions.

Modern leftwing politics are associated with humanism, equality, progressivism, social liberalism and environmentalism. These tend to be favoured by highly educated and/or intelligent people. That being said, you will find dim people all over the political spectrum and it's pointless to try to understand them all.

Think your confusing the guys at the top (who do arguably demonstrate what you say) to the average voter who doesn't (goes for right and left)

You need to look to UKIP to see the top and the average voter closely aligned.
Tories aren't well aligned
Labour aren't well aligned, but Corbyn is closer than the majority of senior labour figures (hence why most of them don't support him)
Lib dems aren't well aligned
Greens aren't, although maybe a bit closer than most if you rule those out that think the Greens are environmentalists

It does annoy me slightly that left-leaning is presented by most media as the 'default' stance and anything right of that is portrayed as stepping stones to 1940s Germany.

What media to do your read/watch????????

This is demonstrably false, a majority of academics reside on the 'left' of the political spectrum.

Notably a higher rate of education tends on average to lead to a great degree of liberalism, even the Daily Mail - the spiritual bible of the right said so :p.

But more seriously, the arguments the OP made about those of the left are pretty much the exact same ones I can make about anybody on the left or right of the political spectrum when discussion politics.

Hardly anybody is interested in finding out the truth of false value of a given claim, nobody fact-checks or does independent research. Pretty much a vast majority of people on both sides of the political spectrum have laughably simplistic political views.

Ironically, the stupidity the OP seems to have a problem with he's displaying himself with his simplified bias generalisations.

The majority of the firmly/extreme left wing people I know are formidable intellectually but often considerably lacking in ability to comprehend a broader viewpoint or shades of grey and some struggle with the practical realities of life. I also find their inability to see through Corbyn frustrating though that might also require them to examine themselves which those types seem to struggle with.

It's all relative though isn't it. I'm "rich" compared to some people but poor compared to Alan Sugar for instance.

If you're "poor", it is nobody else's fault but your own.

What about disabled people.

Most of my friends are lefties. I think this forum is much more right winged than the population of the UK. Look at the EU thread. Chances are that we are staying in the EU. Only UKIP want to leave (and this forum).

So there are no rich disabled people?

Or more accurately, no self made rich disabled people?

What nonsense is this?
