Finding it a good way to spend an hour winding down before I go to bed at night - combat's a bit easy (so far at least), but I get the impression I have many, many hours of dying and trying ahead of me........

Don't count on that happening. IMO the combat is the easiest of the Zelda's so far and I only needed to use two fairies and half a dozen soup's during the whole game.

Sidequests, messing about fishing etc. You probably could get it done in that time frame if you went straight from one thing to the next.

What temple are you about to do?

Well without spoiling it for everyone its when Link manages to get through the Twilight Mirror. So near the end i presume.

Are there any side quests / side games that im missing?
How are we meant to know?

How many bomb bags do you have? What size is your wallet, bomb bags and quiver. How many bottles do you have and have you spoken to the fortune teller to get all the heart pieces?

Zelda combat has always been **** easy. Zelda was never about game difficulty. I completed TP without ever using any healing potions as there really is no need.

Yep, I agree. Don't look to Zelda if you want rock hard gameplay, that's not what the experience is intended to be.

I got my GC copy of Twilight Princess today, not sure when I will start playing it though as I want to finish Oblivion before I start this, and i'm not even 20hrs into Oblivion yet

I'm fighting Zant atm he keeps shooting his magic at me, I know I have to somehow repel his magic and use it against him, I also know I have to use my sword but I've tried several moves and not been able to hit him back once, can someone help?

Best Regards,

Phil

My friend has stolen my Wii for the week so I can't replay to remind myself :p

Have you tried swinging your sword as the magic comes towards you to knock it back?

You know...repel evil and all that? :p

Yeah I have tried that, when I leave work later I will try it again and maybe try and get my timing better,

Thanks for the reply,

Yeah I finished it around christmas time, great game. The artistic style is great too but I feel some of the jaggies defo. should be improved in future zelda games. Most the dungeons where fun, though I've gotta say I missed the lack of the mirror shield and this game isn't quite as good as OoT. The greatest part of TP was the horseback battles though :D

Just completed TP, what a fantastic game! Loved every second of it, just like OoT (though OoT is still my favorite).
Took me 40 hours since launch to complete it :D (took a break around january to may  )
Well worth picking up if you have a wii/gamecube.

I really wanted to like it, but failed miserably, ended up hating it. spent around 6 hours in total, then gave up, just don't get it.
Shame as a convinced meself it was gonna be great, all the reviews in the high nineties etc.
Looked canny good graphically, albeit a bit cutesie, just the characters were so hard to relate to.
Also really disliked the way when you save and switch off, then when you return to the game you're dumped right back to the start of a dungeon.. WTF...too frustrating for me.

I don't know if it's later on in this game or the first dungeon but you can save at your point within the dungeon with the help of the Occoco (sorry, I can't remember the sp).

I thought TP was a major disappointment. It was far too much like OOT. Hardly anything in the game was new and I thought the waggle controls were unresponsive compared to buttons, they weren't that fun because of this. There are some moments in the game that are beautiful, like the temple of time and when you first reach the master sword but even then I think the graphics by todays standard are poor and it will not hold up well in the future compared to Wind Waker.

(Possible Spoilers)

Shadow of the Collosus obviously copied the bosses of Zelda's games such as OOT however I think when I reached the Sky Temple boss and you are hitting the bird on the back with the sword... It was terrible, they definitely were trying to recreate the Collosus fights there and yet I found SOTC a much more enjoyable and unique experience.

Zelda needs a huge revamp on its next iteration. All of the games that have followed it apart from Link's Awakening have been far to similar to Link To The Past, which of course isn't a bad thing but after OOT, WW and TP which are very similar to each other I think it's time they changed it up a little.

Also, I think it is a very nostalgic thing not having voice acting but I seriously think it needs it. When you play the Final Fantasy and Metal Gear games which have fantastic voice acting and movie quality music and cutscenes and then compare to it Zelda, it is disappointing.

LTTP and Link's Awakening are both two of my favourite games of all time and I think TP was no where near to them. I found myself grinding through it just to complete it to see if it would get any better and see why the reviews were so good but I found it far too similar to OOT.

I completed it about a month ago and I must say i quite enjoyed it especialy after you learn all the skills from the howling stones.
The one thing I didnt like about it though was the fishing.
