It's not nice that he killed the bloke but thousands are murdered every year and no-one bats an eyelid.

Lennon wasn't that special. Average at best.

I was there and remember it well. Lennon had a small following and his album at the time wasn't doing too well. He gets shot and his album goes number one overnight and everybody was a John Lennon fan all of a sudden. My covers band even had to start playing Woman because everybody thought it was cool to start asking for Lennon material instead of Elvis and the only song anybody knew by Lennon was Woman or Imagine.
