So been thinking about this and realised it'd be out a month after I bought the mac but it's too late now!

Anyone know of the upgrade price and any major differences there will be?

Literally depends how I feel and if I have anything better to spend the money on at the time because Tiger currently does everything I want it to.

I definately wont run out and buy it, I'll scour the forums to see if anyone highlight some major issues with it.

Same as above. I wont be getting it straight away thats for sure.

One thing I would like to know is will I need to buy a seperate copy of it for each of my Macs? that will really affect how soon I buy it, I fully expect having to buy 4 copies of it, but, if that is the case ill probably just buy 1, stick it on the my main rig and see how i like it, if there are any killer features i grow to miss in the older OS, ill end up getting 4.

Just noticed the Tiger software purchase options... they have Tiger for £90 and Tiger "Family pack" for £140 which allows it to be installed on 5 computers... looks like ill have to get the family pack if they offer that option with Leopard.

Probably wait a while until the money situation has got better then upgrade. I'm in no rush, no big features that catch my eye - Tiger works fine at the minute!

There has traditionally been no protection or serial number at all, and I'm sure Leopard will be the same. I have no idea what the point of the family pack is.

I'll be getting it on release day for sure (already had my MacBook over a year) since I know i'll get it eventually anyway and I might as well start enjoying it as soon as possible! :)

Nothing REALLY wants to make me upgrade, but I still like the look of things such as stacks and spaces. TBH if they make DVD Player go full screen by Command + F instead of Command + 0 i'll be happy :D

So you're legally licensed?

I hadn't heard of the family pack, I will get that. Then I can do my two, my girlfriend's, my brother's and my mum's. I hope they don't all need to be on the same network or something silly like that.

Does anyone know how well Leopard plays on older systems?

The family pack states they all need to be at the same address IIRC... something I have noticed thats annoying me... the EPP discount gives me £15 of the single users software, but, nothing at all off the Family pack. :( can anyone confirm whether the Student discount is applied to the family pack software? my Bro-in-Law is just starting a college course and I may have to get him to buy it for me.

Haha listen to yourself.

It's just a thread, nothing official about it :p
It is where all the info regarding Leopard is posted.

I always direct people there if they ask as normally you'll answer one question, and they'll just ask another.

Yeah I know, it's a good thread! Just found it a funny labeling it "Official" ;)

It's definately worth an upgrade for people with Core2 processors as it's significantly "faster". It's also a worthwhile upgrade for people using virtual desktops or multiple machines/file sharing with the latter being much improved and less prone to spooning up finder :)

I'll be upgrading on release day on my less-than-one-month-old 2.4Ghz C2D Macbook Pro.

(I was going to wait but couldn't resist getting it)
