I was let down by another supplier (a direct competitor) with an order that all was in stock except it wasn't, so I cancelled and tried with OC, I am however somewhat confused with the order status process... I placed an order (edited out) around lunchtime yesterday double checking it was all in stock just before checkout, I got the "Your order has been received" email but on the website its been stuck at status "Ordered" since then (its now 9am) and I haven't had any more updates.
Am I being impatient?
Is this normal not to get any updates?
After being let down I was hoping for something a bit more reassuring, I'm still annoyed with the other supplier so I am nervous about using someone new for the first time, perhaps its all fine.

I’ve been in contact with ocuk customer service over the last few days (always excellent btw) and they are mega busy with all the black Friday deals.
My order dispatched yesterday but took an extra day after stock came in.
I wouldn’t worry about it, just try to be patient.

Can always message support with your order and ask.

Yes you're being impatient, wait for the email that says order dispatched. I wouldn't chase it up just yet especially if they're swamped right now.

Well it's over 36hrs now and nothing at all, I have no idea if or when my items will be dispatched or crucially delivered. Its the lack of communication that's worrying, all the other suppliers I have used over the years have always communicated regarding delays/other problems and left the option to cancel just a click away.

I called them at 10:30 this morning they answered straight away and a man mumbled they haven't got round to my order yet and something about the warehouse manager. I was upgraded to Saturday delivery however that appears to have been a pointless passifying gesture and a waste of my time as my order still hasn't even been picked at 6:50pm on Friday.

I imagine this is the case with a lot of shops. Increased supplier prices, staff wanting more pay (rightfully so), and increased overheads. Then pair in consumers demands for next day turnaround, so you're going to get a few issues.

Just so happens you're the unlucky one this time. It sucks, but such is life.

I imagine delayed orders and people asking about delayed orders just makes the problem worse. Now you need extra staff to answer phones and reply to tickets.

Ordered parts from another company and they dispatched it sameday at 11pm, Still waiting 2 days later for a OCUK that still says pending? Normally OCUK are on point but it seems very lacking nowadays.

Ironically I ordered a product yesterday, sent them a ticket the same evening to cancel, responded before 9am this morning to confirm cancellation.
I ordered a different product by about 11am for Saturday delivery (tomorrow)
Packed and dispatched by mid afternoon and had the email for delivery tomorrow.

Just the luck of the draw over this week I think

While I'm not going to say it doesn't happen in other shops because it does, and I'd guess there's likely a missing item from the order in the OP's case, but the lack of communication is the real issue here. Essentially delays happen but the customer needs to be kept in the loop.
It could be linked to Royal Mail strikes, I've had a few smaller items via Royal Mail from OCUK in the past but I'd have thought they'd have had something in place for the well publicised strike dates.

I literally had something delivered from the Netherlands (I bought 2 carbide 275r gpu mounts direct from corsair store, only place selling) within 48hours of it being ordered... with free (thanks Black Friday) economy shipping...
A major OCUK competitor supplied my ram 'next day' (not on ocuk) that I bought in black Friday sale.
Amazon are still managing next day as usual (admittedly different scale to ocuk)... although they seem to be end of the day for me these days.

So basically the warehouse is not processing orders in order they are just picking at random

There will be some order to it. It's anyone's guess, but my guess is either different departments for different orders, or they have an item out of stock and the person responsible for informing customers of delays/ inputting into system is backlogged with other work.

Fully agree.

Well it looks like it didn't ship yesterday, i tried to phone them to cancel but they aren't open on Saturday. I have worked in IT for 25 years mainly in a very large corporation, I am familiar with stock control and drop shipments, even during the lockdowns I was able to at least get some communications from suppliers. Thanks to those that took the time to reply - I am at least aware of a very positive forum now.

In the same boat here unfortunately, placed an order on Thursday Morning (all parts in stock) and the status is still sitting at Ordered. I was hoping to get everything put together this weekend.

Fair enough that it's probably rather busy however it would be nice to receive some comms. stating that there is a delay etc.

Sent them a webnote today, Will probs ask for a refund and get it elsewhere now. Is a shame as I've been ordering from ocuk for a long time but the lack of comms are always the worse part of it.
