The 980Ti didn't drop a great deal though if memory serves?

It dropped from £550-£600 to around £399 from what I remember. It was enough of a price cut to clear out old inventory.

Then it wont be based on current prices will it.

Prices change all the time depending on many factors, not sure what you mean.

15% - 20% ahead of the 1080Ti, so 10% or so ahead of a Titan Xp I think, so those who want the best and new shiny (outside the V) will have enough of a reason to move from the Xp also.

That would be a 'downgrade' in model line, so you can't expect miracles

Volta is about 35% faster than Pascal which in turn was about 35% faster than Maxwell.
