My mate has a Clio 1.4 Extreme 4 16v 100bhp.

He reckons his could/would/has:-

A)Beat my Saxo VTR in a drag
B)Have a higher top end than my Saxo VTR
C)Would leave me in the twisties
D)A Better suspension than my Saxo because it is sports (eh)
E)Looks more meaner than my Saxo

Now, I thought I would ask for an unbiast oppinion on ere. Obviously I reckon he's talkin poo poo because i'm not sure if his really does have a sporty suspension etc. I'm not the mug who paid 5.5k for a Clio. (His is a 55 plate). It's not a dig at the guy, I just want to find out whats actually better. We both reckon our cars our better so I thought i'd let you lot decide.

Obviously it doesn't have the image, and the interior is nicer in the clio but overall whats the better car to drive to walk away with a smile on your face???

Saxo is better to drive, that clio don't have sports suspension and will be slower and not as good through the bends since its carrying more weight than your car.
 
Just race him and that'll sort it better than any internet forum ever could.

Maybe because I own one and everytime I see him he spurts OI! LANGUAGE - Rilot about how his is a lot better than mine.

"Mine has 17" wheels"

Thats why it has R15 on his tyre.
 
We are both 17, you see he paid 5.5k for a sports clio. I paid just over 3k for a chavy saxo and I dont think he can come to terms with the fact that mine is soo much better lol:D

Yours is not so much better. It is marginally better handling, perhaps better looking, performance is broadly similar.

Both are small French hatchbacks and neither is leagues ahead of the other.

rather than try to change his opinion, it's a much better tactic to look...smile...and nod while saying "ok mate you're right".

This is what I have to do with RL mates with cars.

'Yea yea, I have to have a 1.1 becuase its nippy, quick and cheap to run, it will do 130'

'Really? Cool'.

Just ignore him.

In the scheme of things it's like two people arguing who has the best sunscreen before a nuclear bomb goes off.... utterly pointless.

Aye, my mates old 1.2 Billabong :o reached 120mph on the speedo. He traded it in for a 172, which then broke down 5 times in 3 weeks lol!

edit: like fox said above, its probably far less in reality.
